Yes it is possible since they are both in the same egg group
which is Dragon Egg group

Note: the female's species will decide the new pokemon species, that means if the female is Charizard the new pokemon will be Charmander

Ok, im not posotive but the science says yes because there both dragons and both are in dragon egg group. Dragonite hase water 1 and dragon egg group, and Charizard has monster and dragon egg group. So looking at your question scientificly, yes you can Charizard and Dragonite.
One thing is I havent tried it my self and im not exactly positive its going to work. But you sould try it befor giving up.

I hope this helped a little bit.
