Meta Battle Subway PokeBase - Pokemon Q&A

Does Shadow Tag have an effect on Volt Switch, U-turn, etc?

0 votes

Example:
Gothitelle vs. Cinccino

The foe's Gothitelle prevents escape with Shadow Tag!

Cinccino used U-turn!

...Would Cinccino be able to switch?

Using Baton Pass, U-turn or Volt Switch, or holding a Shed Shell will allow the Pokémon to switch out under all circumstances. Run Away and the Smoke Ball will circumvent its effect to prevent fleeing and teleporting, but not to prevent switching.

So yeah, but that's the only way you can escape the evilness of Shadow Tag. >:)

Hope I helped. :)

Yes. Yes it would

U-turn, Volt Switch and Baton Pass, the moves that cause the user to switch, allow a Pokemon facing an opponent with Shadow Tag to switch, ignoring Shadow Tag's effects.
