Does the link between GBA & Gamecube count as a trade?

When you link Sapphire/Ruby to Colosseum on Gamecube, will the pokemon you trade between them evolve?

Yes. Pokemon traded from the GBA to the Gamecube and vice versa count as a trade, and as such, pokemon like Haunter or Kadabra will evolve upon being traded. You can't trade shadow pokemon to your GBA for obvious reasons though.

I've never tried or done this, but I can explain a few things:

  • There is a difference between a trade and a migration.

If you are exchanging a Polemon from both Colloseum and Ruby game, than it is a trade.

If you are only moving a single (or more) Pokemon to either game, it is a migration.

Only during a trade will Pokemon evolve. ~

Hey Sam Sam Sam Sam, If you are only moving a single (or more) Pokemon to either game, it could also be called a transfer(Unova)
Yeah. Transfer = Migration. Same thing!
