I know this is old, but frankly, even these answers need a little support.
This is the OFFICIAL staple moveset of a Competitive Linoone, named Ziggy (My lv. 100 Linoone, maxed Attack EVs, Adamant Nature, with a Sitrus Berry and Gluttony):
Extremespeed (The strongest Priority attack in the game)
Belly Drum (Give away half of your HP for an instant +6 Attack boost)
Iron Tail / Brick Break (A well-known move for any "Annoying Woodland Creature." It gives you coverage against Walling Rock and Steel-types, and break screens. Extremely useful)
Seed Bomb / Shadow Claw (If you chose Iron Tail above, you have some neutral coverage against Ghosts, so choose Seed bomb for Water-type Coverage. If you chose Brick Break, then you currently have NO coverage against Ghosts, so choose Shadow Claw)
This makes Linoone a deadly Sweeper, comparable to even Rayquaza (The only thing Linoone lacks is phenomenal coverage).
Use Belly Drum first, and Gluttony and Sitrus Berry will work its magic, causing you to only sacrifice 1/4 max HP for a Maxed Attack stat. After you're Sweeper-ready, pick off regular foes with one of the game's most powerful Extremespeed's.
If Steelix, Probopass, Drifblim, etc, is switched in, just use the coverage moves for coverage. With that Base 140 Attack stat form Belly Drum, you'll be ripping holes through enemies, even without the STAB.
This is really, the only set that Linoone can use well. It just doesn't have the stats to go any other way but this. Thank goodness it has Gluttony!
