What is a good moveset for Masquerain?

Mine knows:

Hydro Pump: High power, used to deal with Fire and Rock types.

Bug Buzz: STAB, good power, high accuracy, chance to lower Sp. Def.

Toxic: Inflicts toxic poison.

Air Slash: Decent damage, good chance to cause flinching, decent accuracy, STAB.

You forgot Ice beam again!
I might love Ice Beam, but in this case it only helps against Flying types. Should I replace Toxic with Ice Beam ore Hydro Pump still. (I hope you say Toxic, Hydro Pump is an Egg move.)
THEY MUST HAVE BEEN, unless you used cheats. Yes, ice beam is an awesome move as ice covers many types

I would replace Hydro Pump with Scald for reliability.
I would replace Hydro Pump, with Baton Pass so you can pass the stats on to the next pokemon.

Why do people feel the need to use Quiver Dance on it? Because the boosts are nice? Masquerain can't set up with it, and baton passing it is better on Venomoth. If anything, having Quiver Dance on Masquerain is just teasing it for not being able to use it well. How many of you wanna risk a OHKO for setup? I surely don't.

HYDRO PUMP (85 Accuracy is only 5 less than Hi Jump Kick; big deal. If I'm gonna try to down a Fire or Rock-type with this guy, I'll make the hit count)

ICE BEAM (Another great utility on Masquerain; murder those Dragons alongside Ground and Flying-types!)

BUG BUZZ (STAB; hits hard and decimates Grass, Psychic, and Dark-types)

HIDDEN POWER (GROUND) (Great for all-around coverage, but mostly for Steel and Electric tpyes. All weaknesses covered!)

Give him Life Orb or Choice Specs, and go to town. You have to be merciless with Masquerain, because it doesn't have time to screw around or hold back.

Masquerain (F) @ Life Orb

Trait: Intimidate

EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spe

Modest Nature (+SpA, -Atk)

  • Quiver Dance
  • Bug Buzz
  • Hydro Pump
  • Baton Pass/Ice Beam/Air Slash

Quiver Dance is excellent boosting move, Intimidate also help setting up somewhat.
Bug Buzz is good STAB.
Hydro Pump hits Fire types trying to ruin Masquerain's fun.
Baton Pass passes the boosts to a teammate, or Air Slash can be used for extra STAB and flinch chance or Ice Beam for coverage.

Sweeper Masquerain for NU.
After a Mr. Mime has set up a Substitute and has Baton Passed it onto Masquerain you're able to set up at least one or two Quiver Dances then sweep for a bit.

- Bug Buzz/U-Turn
- Water Sport
- Ice Beam/HP Ground
- Air Slash/Quiver Dance

OK, so Bug Buzz is there for STAB benefit, which Masquerain needs as it's Special Attack isn't impressive. Masquerain is a way to serve Intimidate, and with Speed EVs/Nature should be able to get away with a quick U-Turn, as NU isn't exactly a fast tier. Water Sport weakens Fire Attacks if it gets trapped, and HP Ground/Hydro Pump is for coverange otherwise, though I prefer HP Ground as it's way more reliable. Ice Beam is also an option. Air Slash is STAB, though does not provide any coverange whatsoever, so run Quiver Dance if you must.
