Meta Battle Subway PokeBase - Pokemon Q&A

What is a good moveset for Spinda?

0 votes

Mine is EV trained in Attack. It has the ability Own Tempo. It knows:

Thrash: Good power, high accuracy, Spinda is not confused, STAB.

Teeter Dance: Confuses the foe. Spinda is not confused.

Zen Headbutt: Good power, decent accuracy, decent chance to cause flinching, used to deal with Fighting types.

Faint Attack: Decent power, doesn't miss.

Hi trachy, can you slow down on the moveset questions please? I'm thinking no more than 5 per day. There have been over 30 in the last day and it's way too many. I know you didn't ask all of them, but we need to slow down with them, thanks!
Spinda (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Tangled Feet
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Trick
- Thrash
- Drain Punch
- Ice Punch
USE THIS OK:

Spinda @ Life Orb

Trait: Contrary

EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe

Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SpA)

  • Return
  • Superpower
  • Sucker Punch
  • Fake Out/Wish

Return is good STAB and has good neutral coverage.
Superpower boosts Atk and Def thanks to contrary, and gives good coverage.
Sucker Punch is priority and hits Ghosts.
Fake Out can be used to scout and is STAB priority,Wish can be used for healing, but its low HP means it won't pass much to teammates.

Spinda is a crazy-eyed drunk midget panda with red spots. Yet another phrase I'd never imagine I'd use.

Spinda@Life Orb
Ability:Contrary

Superpower- This guy is to be used in a Trick Room team and only a Trick Room team. Superpower boosts his physical because of Contrary.

Return- Great STAB boosted by. Superpower.

Rock Slide- Nice coverage.

Zen Headbutt/Sucker Punch/Fake Out- Filler.

Give him a Brave Nature and 252 Atk/252 HP/4 Spd EVs.

I would change faint attack, since it is not a very stronng move. You should teach it a move like toxic or protect.

Maybe psychic instead of faint attack, higher power, all stats are even anyway. If you don't want 2 psychics, there's shadow ball.

That is good for a normal Spinda. What about my EV trained Spinda?

Spinda@Choice Band
Ability: Own Tempo
Adamant Nature
EV's 252 HP/4 Speed/252 Attack
Thrash: Uber STAB, nice damage, high accuracy.
Psycho Cut: Deals with Fighting Types
Sucker Punch/Faint Attack: Hits ghost types
Power-Up Punch/Wild Charge/Rock Slide: Take your pick, coverage. I take Wild Charge

Hope this helps! :)

I've found this to be an amazing counter to any set up including Clefable, Mega Sableye and Aegislash.

Spinda@Choice Band
Ability: Contrary
Jolly Nature
EV's 252 HP/4 Def/252 Spe
Trick
Skill swap
Drain punch/Sucker punch/Rapid spin
Teeter dance/Encore/Disable

-Trick locks them into a specific (hopefully status) move

-Skill swap makes their stats decrease when they use moves like stockpile or dragon dance (it also works on Pokemon with Magic bounce because it just forces the foe to use Skill swap instead

-This is your offensive move just so that you aren't completely useless late game. Take your pick. I like drain punch for the sustain

-Teeter dance confuses everyone, Encore locks them into a move if you have already tricked off your scarf, and disable makes the tanks even more useless. again, take your pick

If you see something that you suspect to be a set up Pokemon, just switch in and screw with them

Spinda @ Focus Sash
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Sucker Punch
- Flail
- Rock Tomb
- Superpower

With this moveset, you want to go against an opponent with a lower speed stat than Spinda. You use superpower, get a boost in attack and your opponents attacks you, most likely bringing you to 1 health giving flail 200 base power+stab. Because you won't be outspeeding a lot of opponents, you can use rock tomb to lower their speed and hopefully outspeed them, in that case, you still get the 200 base power flail, only without the +1 attack from superpower. If you can't outspeed your opponent, even after a rock tomb, you just use superpower turn 1 and then sucker punch, hoping to knock him out, or doing some damage.
