What is a good moveset for Absol?

Mine has the ability Super Luck. It knows:

Swords Dance: Greatly increases attack.

Sucker Punch: Overcomes Absol's lower Speed stat.

Psycho Cut: Deals with Fighting types. Critical hit ratio increased by Super Luck.

Will-o-wisp: Inflics toxic burn which helps with Absol's low Defense stat.

Although its not what you asked, if you give it scopelens or other crit-raising items and spam night slash or Psycho cut the crit- rate is amazing.
Absol (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Super Luck
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Stone Edge
- Sucker Punch
- Psycho Cut
- Superpower
Both Psycho Cut and Sucker Punch are physical, what are you talking about?
Umm ill be honest and say i dont have a absol.. but looking at it's moves i'd say
Phyco Cut
Night slash
slash
sword dance :/.. or not since absols attacks usually ko... might replace with stone edge ...
when i had absol in emerald mine died in 1 or 2 hits so i dont usually have the time to use sword dance o.o
Decent moveset, Mapleflage1. I'd replace Slash with Sucker Punch, and Psycho Cut with Superpower, and you're good to go.

Absol (M) @

Trait : Super Luck

Role : Physical Sweeper

Moves:

  • Swords Dance
  • Aerial Ace/ Bounce
  • Taunt
  • Sucker Punch/Night Slash

Okay.....
Swords Dance is for obvious reasons
Aerial Ace / Bounce is for coverage ( Accuracy or Power, you choose)
Taunt works as insurance for sucker puncher
sucker punch is for priority + support from Taunt
or night slash if you want another move, where you wont need taunt+ sucker punch combo....

Okay, i know there are better movesets for absol, but anyway.....

Hope this helps :)

That's a good movest that's why I upvoted seen as fly covers bug and fight but I wouldn't use bounce seen as that gives the foe a chance to switch in to lets say a rock type that can ko you plus I don't think it's 100%acc good answer

A set I found:

Absol (M) @ Scope Lens/Life Orb
Trait: Super Luck
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Stone Edge
- Night Slash
- Psycho Cut
- Hone Claws

Life Orb makes this doggie hit even harder. Super Luck is great with the Scope Lens and this set. EVs and nature give this guy some speed. Stone Edge is Coverage against Bugs. Night Slash is STAB. Psycho Cut is Coverage against Fighting types. The aforementioned moves also have high crit rates, making this guy get a crit about every 2/3 turns. Hone Claws is to increase Attack even more, and raise the accuracy of Stone Edge. Life Orb is for competitive, because, sadly, Scope Lens is banned :(

I've been using this set in NU and loving it.

Absol (M) @ Fight Gem
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Sucker Punch
- Substitute
- Swords Dance
- Superpower

Set up a Substitute. Now you have protection if the foe switch to something else or if you're being assaulted by status. While you are behind a Sub, you can set up Swords Dance fairly safely. A Sub also means your opponent is forced to go on the offensive against you, meaning a Sucker Punch is going to end up being assured. They can try stalling out their status moves, but the high PP of Swords Dance combined with Pressure means that is unlikely to last long enough. Superpower provides almost perfect neutral coverage along with Sucker Punch. In fact, only the never seen Croagunk resists it in NU. The item is the point I took a long time in deciding upon. I first used Life Orb but found the recoil to end up KOing it too soon combined with Substitute. And Expert Belt, the usual replacement for Life Orb, just didn't feel right with only two types. So I went with Fight Gem for Superpower, for a hit against Fighting types stronger than a Psycho Cut.

Wel, with super luck, add Night Slash instead of Sucker Punch for a HUGE Critical hit Ratio. Then your great except if you want, you can add in Aerial Ae to cover fighting and bug types.

Sucker Punch: Coming off of Absols high attack and low Speed, this STAB priority is amazing.

Psycho Cut: Gets that critical-hit boost, and takes care of Poison and Fighting types.

Swords Dance: OHKO Sucker Punch anyone?

Superpower: Provides great type coverage.

There really is only one other option, although it is a really good option: Stone Edge, which provides good type coverage and has a high critical-hit rate. Also, you could replace Sucker Punch with Night Slash if you want to press your luck.

Here is a set I found:

Night Slash-STAB and with its ability Super Luck, it will get a critical Hit almost every time

Psycho Cut- it also gets a critical hit boost and for those Bulky Fighting types

Megahorn/Fire Blast/Aerial Ace- Megahorn for coverage and the others for Bug types, Aerial Ace more recommended

Swords Dance-Dance it up!

For Absol's moveset and explanation, refer to my answer for a Bisharp moveset.

Should Have Super Luck and a Razor Claw or Scope Lens. EV's: 255 Atk 255 Speed
Jolly Nature

Why waste those last 4 EVs? why not boost your Hp by 1?

Absol @ Life Orb

Trait: Super Luck

EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

Jolly Nature (+Spe, -SpA)

  • Swords Dance
  • Sucker Punch
  • Superpower
  • Night Slash/Substitute/Psycho Cut/Zen Headbutt

Okay, you know the drill with Swords Dance it boosts Absol's already great attack.
Sucker Punch lets Absol outspeed faster threats, and is STAB.
Superpower compliments Sucker Punch nicely by hitting Steel types and a cup of other types super effectively.
Night Slash allows Absol to get trough opponents who try to stall out its Sucker Punches, and such cases can actually be pretty off-pissing so it's an option worth considering.
Substitute lets Absol block status and it's an excellent protection for attacks.
Psycho Cut can be used to give coverage for Poison types who roam in the tier, and coverage on Fighting types as well.
Zen Headbutt can be used if a specific KO is important, or if it is just preffered because of the extra power and flinching chance.

O.K.!!! My absolute FAVORITE Poke!!!
Abilty:Super Luck.Nature:Adamant.Item:Scope Lens.
1. Mean Look(Trap foe helps alot!)
2.Taunt(Force them to use attack moves,no status moves!)
3.Night Slash(STAB,SUPER VERY HIGH chance of crit w/ Super Luck,Scope Lens, and High crit ratio!!!)
4.Psycho Cut(Same as Night Slash,Fighting coverage.)

Item: Razor Claw
Ability: Super Luck
Night Slash - Strong STAB
Psycho Cut - Deal with fighting types
Slash - High critical hit ratio
Swords Dance - power up attack

With the ability, item and moveset, it is a 1/2 chance of getting a critical hit.
+ with Swords Dance you don't need a critical hit. But if it is one, WATCH OUT!.

Why give Absol Night Slash, when he can get Sucker Punch? It's a better move with priority, and more power

Do you mean:

Nature: Adamant (+Atk -SAtk)?
SpA and SAtk are the same thing, SAtk is just the more commonly used of the 2
What I mean is that he didn't say what nature it had.
Oh (filler)
Sorry for that.
As for that item, why not go for a Scope Lense if critting is your goal?

I am not an expert on movesets but here is what I think:

Ability- Super Luck
Item- Anything that powers up ice/dark type moves

  • Hail- Obvious reasons (Blizzard never misses in hail)
  • Blizzard- Blizzard never misses in hail
  • Shadow Claw- Can take care of most types and has good power
  • Sucker Punch/Thunderbolt- STAB (except for Thunderbolt) and can be very helpful in some ways, good power and takes care of a few types
