Meta Battle Subway PokeBase - Pokemon Q&A

What is a good moveset for Regice?

2 votes

Mine knows:

Focus Blast: High power, chance to lower Sp. Def, used to deal with Rock and Steel types.

Ancientpower: Chance to increase all stats, decent power, high accuracy, used to deal with Fire types.

Ice Beam: STAB, chance to freeze, good power, high accuracy.

Thunderbolt: Good power, high accuracy, chance to paralyze, can attack Pokemon using Fly.

I don't have a answer but i suggest blizzard
Regice @ Leftovers
Trait: Clear Body
EVs: 252 Def / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Gravity
- Blizzard
- Focus Blast
- Zap Cannon
Nice, I'll use this for my Modest Regice!

Maybe change thunderbolt with flash cannon to deal with rock types.
it's a bit more dependable than focus blast, your choice.

Who voted this down? I like Flash Cannon reliability!
I just voted it up!

NO ANCIENTPOWER! Its just not practical with 5 pp. Use Flash Cannon or Zap cannon instead.

I disagree, AncientPower is awesome!  It provides Regice decent coverage against Fire-types, which is what it's weak against, and has 10% chance to boost all stats!

Hail Team Regice*

Regice - Sassy nature (^Sp Def -Speed) # Leftovers
+ 252 HP EVs / 200 Def EVs / 58 Sp Atk EVs
Ability: Ice Body (DW) / Clear Body

  • Explosion

  • Curse

  • Toxic / Thunder Wave

  • Thunderbolt / Blizzard

This moveset is pretty good for a Hail team, but this set can also generally be used in a regular set. We have Explosion there as a last resort for when Regice is about to get KO'ed. Curse is the buff which will power up Explosion while helping cover its Defense stat. Toxic and Thunder Wave are for crippling sweepers with Thunder Wave, or stalling (when you have a bunch of Curses up, you'll be a crazy wall) with Toxic. Than last is your only attack; which you have Blizzard (100 accuracy in Hail) or Thunderbolt in for some extra coverage. You may want Ice Beam there, but l'm sure your opponent would be thinking you have Ice Beam obviously since this is an Ice type, but surprise them with Thunderbolt instead! You never know when it may come in handy.

**This moveset is based on Generation IV. With minor changes, you can make this an effective Generation V moveset.*

Gen V

Regice @ Leftovers

Trait: Clear Body

EVs: 128 Def / 128 SAtk / 252 SDef

Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)

  • Gravity
  • Zap Cannon
  • Focus Blast
  • Blizzard

Nice set, but why is gravity there?
EDIT: whoa i just read bulbapedia about gravity, genius set!
Yeah, Gravity is more reliable than Lock-On Because it's like a reverse Telekinesis, you're basically grounding all opponents as well as Air Balloon so you are more like to hit more often than missing so much without it.

Regice @ Leftovers

Trait: Ice Body/Clear Body

EVs: 252 HP / 64 Def / 192 SAtk

Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)

  • Ice Beam/Blizzard
  • Thunder Wave
  • Focus Blast
  • Thunderbolt

Regice can take a hit, Obviously and then paralyze the foe. Hit back with STAB Ice Beam/Blizzard
Which depends on if you have support by the ability Snow Warning, So does the ability.
Focus Blast and Thunderbolt for extra coverage.

My favorite new sweeper. It swept many teams by himself.

Regice

Regice @ Life Orb
Trait: Clear Body
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt
- Rock Polish
- Focus Blast

This Regice has been completely reverted to Special Attacker. 100 Base Special Attack is awesome to work with. Rock Polish boosts his Speed to close to 400. It's 398, to be exact. Ice Beam is STAB and usually 2HKO'es when unresisted. Thunderbolt makes the BoltBeam coverage and Focus Blast is additional coverage.

Mine knows:

  • Ice Beam
  • Thunderbolt
  • Flash Cannon
  • Focus Blast

Ice Beam because of the obvious STAB. It's very accurate and it also deals with powerful Dragon types. Usually I would teach it Amnesia, but seen as though it has such a high special defense there's no need. So, give the Water and Flying types a surprise! Flash Cannon is also very accurate and has a chance to decrease the foe's special defense and deals with Rock types. Finally Focus Blast, not quite accurate, but powerful, also has a chance to decrease the foe's special defense and can take out Rock and Steel types easily. Regice can take hits like a boss, so you won't have a problem with this moveset.

It depends. When you are looking for a defensive team, my Regice knows....

Rest - Great for health regain. Suggested use of a Lum berry.

Curse - It has terrible attack and decent defense, so a curse or two will raise it. Speed is not very good on this Pokemon, so curse will just lower it, but Thunder wave will help the situation.

Ice Beam - STAB. Good for dragon, flying, ground and grass types.

Thunder Wave - Good way to counter-interact Curse: Lower speed, but thunder wave will lower opposing Pokemon's speed by a lot. Best bet is that you will be faster.

Generally, a quiet nature can help a lot.
Lum berry is a no brainer.
