How do you decide your starter Pokemon's gender?

I'm literally just about to start Black 2 that I pre-ordered!
I'm choosing Snivy as my starter< NO ARGUMENTS PLEASE

I'm guessing it will be like previous Pokemon games where you have no choice, just chance.

It would make sense and bulbapedia says nothing about a new feature that you choose your starters gender.Here
