I am new to competitive battling and built this team as if I were facing the elite four. I know this isn't the single player games. I thought I had a decent team then I got beat often. If my team is crap and I should start with a new one please don't hesitate to let me know.
Alakazam @ Alakazite

EVs: 240 HP / 252 Def / 16 SpA

Mega Alakazam with major damage and healing capabilities. Magic guard prevents damage and is really nice to have. I like him and don't really want to change him but willing to change moves.
Garchomp @ Dragon Fang
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 240 Atk / 16 SpD / 252 Spe
- Dragon Rush
- Earthquake
- Aerial Ace
- Aqua Tail
Basic fast sweeper. Not really sure on the move set.
Chansey (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 240 HP / 252 Def / 16 SpA
- Aromatherapy
- Dazzling Gleam
- Healing Wish
- Psychic
Defensive healer. I think it has a good move set.
Excadrill @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Force
EVs: 160 HP / 96 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Drill Run
- Rapid Spin
- Stealth Rock
- Sandstorm
My match starter. I like the Rapid spin to remove switching hazards. Sandstorm with his ability allow Drill Run to do higher damage.
Empoleon @ Quick Claw
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 SpA
Mild Nature
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Agility
- Grass Knot
I like Empoleon because of his high amount of resistance to a lot of types. Scald and Ice Beam are powerful moves with Scald leaving a chance to burn. Grass Knot is a great move for larger none flying pokemon. I am considering switching him with something else just don't know exactly what.
Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpA
- Earthquake
- Flamethrower
- Iron Head
- Stone Edge
A Pokémon I just threw on. I have seen others use it and it worked well for them I just don't know if I set him up right. Willing to switch for something better.
