What is a good moveset for Jellicent?

Really cool type combo.

Shadow ball/Hex-STAB, covers ghost weakness. evil eye works well with Scald

Scald-STAB, burns the target (30%), does will-O-wisp's job while damaging.

Confuse ray/Acid armor-confuses the opponent, or beef up his defenses.

Pain split/recover-Pain split restores health when you're low and the opponent is high. Recover is more reliable, but doesn't harm the foe in the process.

What if u need to dive or surf or go up a waterfall. I think it should learn one of those

Sweeper:

Trick Room-I know it has decent speed, but if you give it a hindering nature for speed, then it can work out fine. Lets him sweep.

Water spout-Destroy anything at full health with this.

Shadow ball-covers ghost weakness, STAB.

Energy ball/Recover/Ice beam-Energy ball is for more type coverage, recover helps with water spout, ice beam covers a few more types, or HP to cover dark and grass weakness.

Most opponents wouldnt use water type attacks(unless you like to switch around with your team).

Jellicent Staller

Jellicent # Leftovers
Nature: Bold
Ability: Water Absorb / Cursed Body
~ 252 HP EVs / 200 Sp Def / 58 Sp Atk EVs

With a great amount of HP, Jellicent can become a great staller! Some people may want Water Spout rather than Brine because they think they can use Recover and Leftovers to recover HP to ready Water Spout's power, but face reality. Do you really think your opponent will give you a good chance to have high HP to take a Water Spout? The turn you heal, will be the turn they attack! Brine is good to finish off foes after being weakened from STAB Shadow Balls. Recover is there for the obvious reason to stall stall stall! Taunt is so that no foe will be able to mess up your stalling, like with Toxic, Leech Seed, or even a Taunt of their own! Protect is another option to stall efficiently along with a free turn of Leftys. You could even Taunt, than Protect just to mess with them! Woohoo!

Well Anyway, interesting pokemon.

Nature: Modest/Timid
EVs: 252 SA/252 Speed/4 hp
Moveset:
Will-o-wisp/Scald: Burn, Burn, Burn!
Hex: STAB+Status:)
Energy Ball: Coverage.
If You Chose Will-o-wisp over Scald, your last move should be Water Spout or Surf. If You Chose Scald, Put Trick Room(to sweep), or Ice Beam(coverage).

I'm really starting to like this thing. I've always wanted a Ghost/Water-type anyway.

Ability: either is fine, but I personally like Cursed Body
Nature: Bold/Calm
-Will-o-Wisp/Scald
-Hex/Shadow Ball
-Surf/Ice Beam
-Recover

*Will-o-Wisp or Scald? 'Wisp burns the foe, but Scald has a fair chance of doing that AND deals decent damage. The main point of inflicting burns is to help out Jellicent's lesser Defense. If opting for WoW, go with Hex for its boost against statused opponents; Shadow Ball if Scald instead, in which case you can also add Ice Beam for coverage against Grassers and Dragons. Recover works well with Jellicent's natural bulk, especially if something has been burned.

Other interesting options:
-Water Spout, Energy Ball, Night Shade, Pain Split, Toxic, Trick Room, Hydro Pump, Rain Dance, Wring Out, Sludge Wave.

Jellicent Calm Nature, EVs 252 Sp.Def 252 Sp.Atk 4 HP, Item Leftovers.

Will-O-Wisp, get the burn halving their attack and Powers up Hex, Scald is also an option here.

Hex, stab and is powered up by Will-O-Wisp or Scald, 150 base power now with stab!

Ice Beam, Covers Grass Type Weakness and dragons, if you're lucky it may power up Hex With the Freeze if you start with this move.

Surf, Since Fire Types Resist the Will-O-Wisp you got this with surf, STAB but really, why would fire types switch in on Jellicent?

Rather dissapointing to see 16 jellicent movesets but non being scarfed.
This guy hits like a truck in rain with stabs and boosts.

This guy is beast in rain as its Water Spouts not only get stab but also a rain boost making it do the equivalent to super effective damage on neutral Pokemon.


I recomend you use this guy in rain, not as much out of rain but in my opinion this Pokemon with this set is one of the best revenge killers in Ou and I know Hex will agree.

I say full Speed EVs, so it can outspeed more. 360 Spd is nothing to play around with.

Alright so I didn't see this set on here already, and I have spent all morning trolling people with it. This set supprts teams very well by spreading burns and shutting down opposing walls/stallers. Also, the EVs give Jellicent excellent mixed bulk, and the small speed investment allows Recover, Taunt, and Will-O-Wisp to be put to better use. Jellicent is quite possibly one of the trolliest bulky water types out there, and it serves to be a pain in the behind for quite a lot of things.

Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Recover
- Shadow Ball/Scald
- Taunt
- Will-O-Wisp

Recovery is for recovering, Shadow Ball is the attack of choice unless you are running it in the rain, Taunt screws oposing Blisseys, Ferrothorns, and other walls, while Will-O-Wisp cripples things such as Scizor, Toxicroak, and other physical sweepers.

Okay, I think I will use this guy whenever I face my brother, just because he has a fear of giant jellyfish, and I think this guy is a giant jellyfish. Not much else going for it stat-wise, but movepool wise, looks like another Ghost with a wide range of moves.

Ability: Cursed Body

EVs: HP, Sp Def, Sp Attack Nature: Calm

Shadow Ball: Ghost STAB.

Energy Ball: Type coverage.

Water Spout: An incredibly powerful move.

Recover: Allows you to use Water Spout at full power, while keepin you alive and healthy.

Moveset:
Hex: STAB, covers ghost weaknesses
Will-o-Wisp: Status Burn, Doubles the damage of Evil Eye
Water Spout: STAB, more powerful at over 50% of HP
Recover: Keeping you healthy, helps Water Spout

(2nd Choice)
Nature: Calm, Quirky
EVs: the same as 1st choice
Moveset:
Shadow Ball: STAB, covers ghost weaknesses
Ice Beam: covers grass weaknesses/Surf: STAB, surfer
Water Spout: STAB, more powerful at over 50% of HP
Recover: Keeping you healthy, helps Water Spout

Jellicent Quiet nature. EVs 252 Sp.Atk, 160 HP, 96 Def. Item Life Orb. Ability Water Absorb.

Trick Room, Allows Jellicent to outspeed things.

Hydro Pump, Strong STAB move.

Ice Beam, Covers Grass Type Weakness as well as annoying dragons who think they can come on and recist the water type STAB.

Shadow Ball, Covers Ghost type weakness STAB.

Life Orb Jellicent can actually dish out some decent damage, some of the life orb recoil can be healed by Water Absorb once in a while.

Tankin like a boss!

Hydro Pump just says it all, He doesn't have that natural brute power to use anything else, Hydro Pump just works.

Recover is pretty obvious, it keeps him alive.

Sludge Bomb is Grass Coverage, And used to try to Poison the opponent so that...

Hex does more damage, with Sludge Bomb Poisoning support.

lol this is very similar to my set on my Jellicent on White, Great set.
Thanks, Using this makes me feel like a Tentacruel with Recover, and some beastly STAB move.
