I know how to do it now, but where do I have to be I press recieve gift from nintendo wfc? It says that there are no gifts to be found, do I have to be at a store or something?

No, you do not need to be in any specific place, you just need a Wi-Fi connection.

What country do you live in? The event is available for Europe, Australia and North America, so you need to be in one of those three places. (I think you said Canada before so you should be covered by 'North America'.)
