Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, How About This? Sludge Bomb(STAB), Toxic(Vileplume has decent defense), Energy Ball(STAB), and Moon Light(Healing)?

Other Options: Physical: Drain Punch(Pretty Good If Vileplume has good Attack), Return(Good Power and Backup Physical move).
Special Attacks: Giga Drain(Healing, and Damage), Grass Knot(Another Grass Move Option), Petal Dance+AromaTherapy(Good Damage, and Aroma heals confusion).

Gen V

Vileplume (F) @ Life Orb

Trait: Chlorophyll

EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd

Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)

  • Giga Drain
  • Sludge Bomb
  • Sleep Powder
  • Hidden Power [Fire]

Should be used in Sun, although since Vileplume is NU, that means you won't have instant weather (since it seems that Vulpix is for some strange reason Borderline, makes no sense as that really just puts it in OU with Ninetales) so you'll have to use Sunny Day. Since that isn't the most reliable, Giga Drain is used on this set instead of Solarbeam. Hidden Power Fire is fine outside of Sun, and works really well inside Sun. Sludge Bomb provides STAB. Sleep Powder allows you to take down the foe. Life Orb makes it more powerful, and the stats are your standard sweeping stats.

Vileplume (M) @ Leftovers

Role: Tank

Trait: Effect Spore

EVs: 128 HP / 80 Def / 252 SAtk / 40 SDef / 8 Spd

Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)

  • Giga Drain
  • Sludge Bomb
  • Hidden Power [Rock]
  • Stun Spore

Well, Seeming as Trachy's done a set for in sun, here' s one for Out of sun.

Stun Spore, can Effectively Paralyze someone, which is incredibly annoying.

Giga Drain and Sludge Bomb Both for STAB

With Hp Rock for Covering all Weaknesses, Although HP Fire can do nicely Aswell.

Gen III

Vileplume (M) @ Salac Berry

Ability: Chlorophyll

EVs: 120 HP / 120 Def / 128 SAtk / 128 SDef / 12 Spd

Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)

  • Aromatherapy
  • Moonlight
  • Sunny Day
  • SolarBeam

Kind of a team support.

Aromatherapy works great if you have someone on your Team who likes to use Resto Chesto, so the second time you use rest, you can just switch. Which is nice.
Sunny Day can support the rest of your team with Fire types, Etc, but it's also the only way this guy can have a decent Grass type STAB move. So go Solarbeam! On top of that, Moonlight will heal you by quite a bit more in the Sun, and your Salac Berry speed boost lets you use it Quickly after you've been taken down to low health.

Double/Triple Battle

Vileplume (M) @ Choice Specs
Trait: Effect Spore
EVs: 32 HP / 176 Def / 252 SAtk / 48 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Petal Dance
- Round
- Sludge Bomb
- Hidden Power [Fire]

Specs Tank. Petal Dance is powerful yet unpredictable. It might even hit one of your own Pokemon. As such, you'll want to team it up with a Sap Sipper Pokemon. Round can be powerful if you have other Pokemon using it. Sludge Bomb is STAB. HP Fire is coverage. Since this thing has no Speed even with a +2 boost, Effect Spore is used to perhaps give the opponent a status condition.

VILEPLUME is supposed to play the role of a HP TANK:

PETAL DANCE: its ev yield is 3 special attack, so its worth training, plus it has a whopping 120 attack, which is dangerous when it come to 3 special attack.

DRAIN PUNCH: healing is important to vileplume, since it has many weakness. its best to give vileplume, a fighting gem OR a black belt, which boosts fighting moves

SLUDGE BOMB: one of vileplume's best poison move, and a special move along with its poison type, this should be a move not to mess with.

MOONLIGHT: who wouldn't want to heal? in a double battle your Pokémon could use sunny day, then vileplume should gain back 12.5 health. not much, but it's worth try.
