What is a good moveset for Manectric?

Mine knows:

Thunderbolt: Good power, chance to paralyze, high accuracy, STAB.

Charge: Increases power of Thunderbolt, increases Sp. Def.

Toxic: Inflicts toxic poison.

Flamethrower: Good power, chance to burn, high accuracy, surprise attack.

Absol, Manectric, Scizor, and Gardevoir have the worst mega evolutions while Mawile, Pinsir, Kangaskhan, Charizard, Blaziken, Lucario, and Blastoise are the best.
^No way, M.Manectric is amazing. Abomasnow has the worst (XY) mega.

Get rid of charge and toxic, they don't help with his low defense.
As Menectric is 1 of my favs, ive trained many over the years. This is the moveset I found best:

Thunderbolt(STAB, higher Special attack)

Hidden Power(if you can find an water or grass one to cover the ground weakness)If not grass or water hidden power, Charge Beam can be helpful, to lower the opponets special attack, and reflect will work here too.

Flamethrower(same reason as you)

The Last slot is for whatever the heck you want. I put Iron Tail as my Main Manectric has pretty good attack. But if you wnt toxic or charge, though I don't like them, you can add them in here.

Thanks, I'll take both Iron Tail and Reflect.
Charge Beam raises your Sp. Atk...It does not decrease your opponents Sp. Atk
Do you have an item to put on it? Mine currently is holding a magnet.

  • Rain Dance
  • Thunder
  • Hidden Power Water
  • Volt Switch

Rain Dance to help out other moves.
Thunder is good STAB and powerful.
Hidden Power Water rounds out the coverage and gets the rain boost.
Volt Switch is used to scout switch out and STAB.
Ugh why didn't it get Grass Knot?

Edited and improved. Why the faq can't it learn Electroball?!DX

Modest/Timid Nature
EV trained in Sp. Attk and Speed
Lightning Rod Ability
Expert Belt/Air Balloon Held Item

Thunderbolt: Both STAB but don't know that power Electroball would get with Manetric's Speed.
Overheat: No one would suspect this and is as powerful as STAB Thunder.
Volt Switch: after useing Overheat too many times this is a good way to recover from it.
Hidden Power (Ice): Deals with weakness.

Works well with Sunny Day but I think there are better pkmn to use in a team like that.

Annoying Manectric -- To annoy opponent to extreme level!

Thunder Wave
Electro Ball
Volt Switch

Ev Spread: 252 spd, 252 sp. atk, 4 Hp Item: Focus Sash

How to make use of this strategy:
1st Thunder Wave opponent's Pokemon, and force it to switch out using Roar, and repeats the Wave-Roar combo. By doing this, you will able to cripple almost every Pokemon of ur opponent, and messing up their plan by force switching. After you are done with Thunder Wave, then you can start to spam Electro Ball. This will Deal Serious Damage to opponent's Pokemon after having them paralyzed, and probably will OHKO. Volt Switch is for some really unfavorable situation, like the opponent have Pokemon with Magic Guard or Thunder Rod etc.

However to use this strategy, you have to ensure Manectric is faster than any of ur opponent's Pokemon. If not you are not fast enough to cripples them before they hit you and you might end up fainting. Better strategy is baton passing Agility to Manetric, with evs and baton pass, I'm sure that Manetric will be faster than most of the Pokemon.

Move 1: Ice Fang-Takes care of its ground-type weakness.
Move 2: Thunderbolt-More dependable than thunder and has STAB.
Move 3: Flamethrower-Ahh, the classic fire-type move. Super-dependable and a chance to burn.
Move 4: Signal Beam-While taking advantage of its super-high special attack, you can also confuse with this attack.

Hah. First Mega Moveset.

Manectric @ Manectite
Ability: Lightningrod/Intimidate
EVs: 252 SpAtk/ 252 Spe/ 4 Def

  • Thunderbolt (STAB, why wouldn't you)
  • Flamethrower (Best coverage move it has)
  • Roar (for Ground-types)/ Hidden Power (If you can get Grass or Water)
  • Electro Ball

Thunderbolt is an obvious choice; Flamethrower to provide some coverage; Roar to get rid of Ground-types/ Hidden Power Grass or Water for Ground coverage; Electro Ball is practically a OHKO, but you would have to breed in Unova than transfer.
Also, you need to be faster than the opposing Pokemon for this set to work...

Roar has a lowered priority. If you're facing a Special Attacker, then there's no point to it. Roar works for switch-ins, but other than that you have to take a hit, and Mega Manectric can take one EQ at best, after Intimidate.

Gen VI, pre-PokeBank OU

I use a mono-electric team, so that would be worth noting.

The EV yield is same as that of my Manectric in my mono RU team in Gen V. It works in Gen VI too, so I'm not changing it.
Lightningrod is amazing when used right. You don't see it used often in OU, but when it does get triggers, Manectric is a machine. Intimidate is good for Physical sweepers.

Thunderbolt and Flamethrower are just obvious choices.
I'm using HP Grass atm, since he's my main Special sweeper, and I need a Grass type move, lol. Though HP Ice is far better, since Garchomp and Dragonite flood OU.
Volt Switch is good for an Intimidate on Physical sweepers then bailing outta there.

I use this Manectric all the time as a lead on Showdown, and it's great.

Ability: Static
Shiny: Yes (duhh)
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Toxic
- Flamethrower

Air Balloon prevents a Quake OHKO and makes them waste another move trying to break it. Flamethrower and HP Ice are for great coverage, including ground, and both are surprise attacks. And it's surprisingly fast.
As a lead, its great for taking out setup 'mons like Ferrothorn and Garchomp. If you don't like your odds, Volt Switch out to something more suitable to the situation (unless, of course, its a Ground type you're facing). Toxic is, well, Toxic, though I've found Attract can be fun in that slot too.
Its ability is simply there for extra annoyance, especially when you can't hit that Excadrill with Toxic. The only thing that I've found that stumps this Manectric is Heatran, but a quick Volt Switch out and you'll be just dandy.

Doubles support Mega Manectric

EVs: 20 HP / 252 SpA / 236 Spe
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch/Thunderbolt
- Snarl
- Hidden Power [Ice]/Overheat
- Protect

With the combination of intimidate and snarl, you can both of the opponents offenses in a single turn. Volt Switch is preferred to make spamming intimidate easier, but thunderbolt can also be used for pure power. Overheat may be used to get past threats like ferrothorn and amoonguss and is preferrable it manectric has Charizard-Y as a partner, but HP Ice is great against the common Salamence and Garchomp
