Meta Battle Subway PokeBase - Pokemon Q&A

What is a good moveset for Tropius?

1 vote

Mine hs the ability Chlorophyll. It knows:

Sunny Day: Increases usefullness of Solarbeam and Synthesis plus increases Speed.

Solarbeam: Powered by Sunny Day so why not have it?

Synthesis: Heals 100% in sunlight.

Air Slash: STAB, takes on Pokemon who are not ffected much by Solarbeam. Used because of higher Sp. Attack.

Tropius (M) @ Sitrus Berry
Trait: Harvest
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
- Aerial Ace
- Bullet Seed
why does everyone say it heals 100% in sun its only 66%...
Idk who everyone is, but you are right, it heals 2/3 HP in Sun
Everyone I have seen using synthesis
Mine has Harvest (hidden ability)
-rock smash

looking at the stats it is suited to go in for a hm slave

I would put...
Earthquake for weakness towards fire
Sunny day for advantage of chlorophyll
Solarbeam you know why
And steal wing for weakness towards ice
Make it hold a heat rock so sunny day will stay longer

GREAT! I would add steel wing(covers biggest weaknesses) and Energy ball instead Sunny Da and Solar Beam but yours is just as good(maybe better but im not a big sunny day/solarbeam fan.

This isn't my moveset, it belongs to Ins4ne Gam3rs but still...
Tropius-Harvest-Sitrus Berry
Careful Nature
252 HP / 252 SDef / 4 Def
-Leech Seed
-Leaf Blade

VERY stally set. Leech Seed, Toxic and then Sub. Leaf Blade for backup and Sitrus Berry/Harvest+Leech Seed gives you one hell of a recovery method. I stalled an entire OU team to death with just this Tropius! Hope this helps.

Tropius @ Life Orb

Trait: Chlorophyll

EVs: 28 HP / 252 SpA / 228 Spe

Timid Nature (+Spe, -Atk)

  • SolarBeam/Giga Drain
  • Air Slash
  • Hidden Power Fire
  • Synthesis/Growth

With Sun support.
SolarBeam is STAB and hits hard, Giga Drain can be used for healing though.
Air Slash is STAB as well and complements SolarBeam/Giga Drain nicely and hitting Grass types, and gives more coverage as well.
Hidden Power Fire gets the boost from Sun and has excellent coverage along with the other moves.
Synthesis is nice healing, Growth can be used to boost Tropius's offenses.

Tropius @ Sitrus Berry
EV's: 252 HP, 252 Def, 4 SpA
Nature: Bold (+Def, -Atk)
Ability: Harvest

  • Substitute
  • Protect
  • Leech Seed
  • Solar Beam/Energy Ball/Giga Drain

This is a SubSeed-set. Substitute works amazing, with Leech Seed as you can avoid lot of damage, while you stall with Leech Seed. Protect also acts great, because you can scout attacks, and you can prevent damage. Leech Seed is the second part of the SubSeed strategy. The last slot is just if you need a sort of direct attack.
This set works best with Sunny day-support.

Tropius--@--Lum Berry
Ability -- Harvest
Nature -- Adamant
EVs -- 252 HP, 128 Atk, 128 Spd

Dragon Dance -- Stats
Rest -- Heal off damage, combo with Lum + Harvest
Bullet Seed -- STAB. Breaks subs that could easily be set up on you while dancing
Earthquake -- Strong coverage, hits a lot of types that Bullet Seed doesn't hit well

EVs give decent enough bulk, while still letting Tropius have the chance to potentially sweep after 2 dragon dances, preferably 3. Harvest + Lum sweeper set is nice.

i try this combination and it work great cause with my sunny team my lum berry always come back soo i could made dragon dance a lot while rest up a lot also but i prefer leaf blade its way more powerful than bullet seed...

For Sun use only!

Tropius (M) @Leftovers
Trait: Solar Power
EV's: 252 Spe, 252 SpA, 4 HP
Nature: Timid Nature (+Spe, -Atk)
- Solar Beam
- Roost
- Dragon Pulse
- Hidden Power Fire

This is one my epicest Pokemon I have ever made in my sun team. Use
the Solar Power to raise your SpA insanely high and leftovers cover
the recoil damage from it. Dragon pulse for coverage and Solar Beam
for one turn STAB. Roost is for reliable healing and Hyper Beam is to
demolish the opponent if being annoying. I don't want to brag, but
this is definitely the best Pokemon in my sun team...and who could
have thought that Tropius could achieve this? Well, you found
is a Beast

Walled by Steel types.

Consider HP Fire > Hyper Beam
Yeah, thats the MAJOR downfall of this set. But this set proper kicks butt anyways :U

Try this only with a team with ninetails with dream world ability drouth

Tropius(F)item lum Berry

nature< adamant or jolly >

-dragon dance
-leaf blade

the the way this works is with nine tail ability drouth is that you will be able to dragon dance a lot while taking damage but you will not need to worry cause you have rest which is the best recovery move for it cure you of all status problems like burn,poison..etc. and with the Lum berry tropius will be able to wake up right a way after it goes to sleep and with the ability harvest in a sunny weather the berry will keep on coming back each time it is consume and use by tropius.... leaf blade is tropius strongest physical attack move also its a stab making the total power of the move 135 and with a couple dragon dance to increase its power even more you do the maths and earthquake take care of most of tropius type weakness like poison, fire, rock and annoying steel types.and if you come across tropius main enemies which is ice your team back of fire types can always help out...

Leech Seed (egg move)
Sunny Day
This is a defensive loadout and its works for me because Tropius has high defense and special defense.
To be more offensive Seech Seed, Fly or Synthesis with Solarbeam.

Tropius @Sitrus Berry
Trait: Harvest
Modest Nature ( +SpA -Atk
EVs : 252 SpA, 252 Spd, 4 HP

-Protect (Stalling)
-Leech Seed (Regain HP)
-Air Slash (Decent Damage+ Criticals)
-Roost (Regain More HP)

Specially Defensive Curse Tank:
NANNERS! (Tropius ) @ Lum Berry
Ability: Harvest
Careful Nature
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
-Leaf Blade

Curse boosts your somewhat decent Defense and mediocre Attack, while losing some of your already pitiful speed. Rest is a quick, drawback-free return to full health thanks to Lum Berry. Leaf Blade is obligatory STAB, and Outrage does massive damage, and the confusion will more than likely be remedied by the Lum Berry.

Tropius@leftovers or life orb or any berry

Evs: sp. attack and defence/ special defence

Ability: chlorophyll or solar power

Air slash: good power, STAB, chance to flinch

Sunny day: great support for fire types, also good for solar beam and synthesis and solar power

Solar beam: deals with rocks, great power, STAB, awesome with sunny day

Synthesis/ leaf storm / natural gift: good with sunny day, provides sustain. Leaf storm does awesome damage but lowers sp. attack. Natural gift does damage and its type is based on the type the berry your holding counters

Hoped this helped:)
