Meta Battle Subway PokeBase - Pokemon Q&A

What is a good moveset for Spiritomb?

1 vote

I know I'm skipping a ton of Pokemon but I wanted to do the moveset for this guy. It knows:

Will-o-wisp: Toxic burn, lowers foe's Attack.

Taunt: Stops the foe from using Stat moves.

Sucker Punch: STAB, good power, works well with Taunt, attacks first.

Pain Split: Good healing/damage dealing move.

Edit: Forgot to mention that I have an Attack EV trained Spiritomb.

I'm done with moveset questions for today. I think I've passed my limit actually.

Spiritomb Modest/Quiet Nature. EVs 252 HP, 252 Sp.Atk, 4 Def. Item Leftovers. Ability Pressure.

Hypnosis: YES.

Dream Eater: HAHAHAHAHAHA

Shadow Ball: Compliments other moves.

Pain Split/Hidden Power Fighting: More coverage or healing while doing damage, works well on high hp walls like vaporeon.

Oh~. Very nice. I like the set up.
y would u give him leftovers?
I find Infiltrator > Pressure. Yes it's good to mill down opponent's PP, but getting past subs and screens is better than PP milling for me.

Ok i run this set with my Spiritomb, its a tankish thingy

Spiritomb @ Choice Scarf

Pressure

Careful Narure (+ Sp Def - Sp Atck ) (You will need Sp def because you already got will o wisp)

EVS: 252 Def / 252 Sp Def / 4 HP

  • Trick
Ok this may be your first move, so you can break your opponent strategy fast, and then switch to a sweeper, or keep stalling

  • Sucker Punch
Some priority can be helpful (You can also use shadow Sneak, has less power but it will ensure damage)

  • Will-O-Wisp
Burn yer' foes, you can also predict a switch after using trick

  • Pain Split
Recover from another poke's HP, you can also predict a switch too

Even with Pain Split, Max HP is pretty much obligatory.
It's still low enough to work well, and adds much greater bulk to it than some Def EVs.
I want the foe to get less hp, and that defenses absorb good damage

Spiritomb (M) @ Choice Band

Role: Tricky Kill'sya

Trait: Pressure

EVs: 56 HP / 252 Atk / 100 Def / 100 SDef

Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)

  • Confuse Ray
  • Sucker Punch
  • Trick
  • Shadow Sneak

Trick's the Band onto the Foe, Confuses whoever switches in, or the foe if he's good with staying in, Or Sucker Punch / Shadow Sneak sweep with Dual STAB, you're pretty tankish with the EV's and no weaknesses.

Spiritomb Quiet/Modest Nature. EVs 252 HP, 252 Sp.Atk, 4 Def. Ability Pressure. Item Leftovers.

Dark Pulse/Shadow Ball depends on if you have trick room support, so does the nature.

Nastly Plot YES.

Psychic Gives coverage, nice move.

Hidden Power Fighting works well with the dark/ghost type move as well as psychic.

I like the Adamant nature one better - the 60% accuracy of Hypnosis can be a game changer.

Spiritomb (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Pressure
Evs: 252 Hp / 252Def / 4Sp.Def
Bold nature ( -Atk, +Def)

  • Calm mind
  • Dark pulse
  • Rest
  • Sleep talk

Classic sleep talk set. CM a few times then rest off the damage, and sleep talk dark pulse away!

keep in mind that slept talk uses a RANDOM MOVE it will nt always use dark pluse as it has an 1/3 chance of doing that
Yeah, and it also has a 1/3 Chance of beasting up your stats again
That will be the set that i will use and image that beast with Ganlon Berry!

My Spiritomb is pretty sick IMO:

Found my seed so its flawlessly bred. (31 IVs in each category)
Modest Nature
Holding Leftovers
148 Def EVs, 148 S.Def EVs, 212 S.Atk EVs

Dark Pulse - High Power STAB
Shadow Ball - High Power STAB
Nasty Plot - Its exactly what the name states
Im still trying to find a 4th move. For now, it has Psychic

Its final stats are:
241 HP
198 Atk
289 Def
300 S.Atk
289 S.Def
106 Spd

Its gonna tank basically anything thrown at it while it Nasty Plots its way to a 4x or maxed S.Atk.

TEEHEEE
This is a good moveset for Spiritomb I would know because I LOVE ghost type pokemon, I haven't lost since with this move set so here it is:
Hypnosis: Gives you time to attack or raise stats, or heal pokemon.

Dream Eater: Good for gaining HP, works well with Hypnosis

Impison: This is a HUGE advancement, since Spirtomb is a ghost type and ghost type moves are super effective on other ghost types this allows you to cancel out the opponents pokemon's same moves that have the same moves as you.

Sucker Punch: STAB, good power, always attacks first.

Hope this helps!!!:D

Tricksy Reworked

Spiritomb @ Choice Band
Adamant or Impish nature 58 HP/ 200 Atk / 150 Def / 100 S. Def

-Swagger
-Foul Play
-Trick
-Shadow Sneak/Sucker Punch

My take on the "Tricky Kill'sya" move set. Fair warning, this hasn't been play tested, just playing around with the set posted by Josh to work in Foul Play, which was added to Spiritomb's moveset via B2/W2 tutors. Trick gives your foe the choice band while swagger pumps up their attack stat as it confuses them, working the same way as confuse ray on a switch, but netting you a choice-banded swagger boosted STAB Foul Play on any bulky physical attacker that stays in thinking they can take you. Swagger works with Foul Play on the set, giving you a truly frightening stab against physical sweepers. Shadow Sneak rounds off the set, giving you a reliable priority STAB to use with Choice Band or to revenge kill confused foes.

EVs have been reworked to give more physical bulk in case swagger backfires. A Defense increasing nature could also be chosen to increase survivability against a boosted physical attack, though it will likely cause noticeable reduction of damage output on the already weak Shadow Sneak. You could try swapping Shadow Sneak for Sucker Punch on this set (Since Dark and Ghost have very similar type coverage) to increase power, but it's less reliable.

Seeing as he has no weaknesses, I say he is a Wallin' BOSS.

Spiritomb @ Lefties
252 Hp/4 Def/252 SDef
-Hypnosis
-Dream Eater
-Rest/Psychic
-Sleep Talk/Calm Mind

RestTalk if you think you are lucky and want to troll, Calm Mind and Psychic to be a good attacker.

I've already trained a Spiritomb and IF you want an Invicible Spiritomb you will need this tips:
First try to get a Defense nature and a Sp.defence Characteristic...
Second the moveset:
Calm mind
Will-o-wisp
Shadow Ball
Double Team
Third and last...
Item: BrightPowder or Leftovers
;)
