I don't really know what to do about Arceus' many types and the moves it can learn.

Judgement is always a viable option. Earthquake is always a powerful move to have, same with Psychic. The best type for Arceus is Electric because electric is only weak to ground. Teach it Energy Ball to fight ground types.

Keep it a normal Type, since it's the most reliable. (No Dragon typing. C'mon, EVERYONE will expect a Draco-Arceus.)

Since it's a normal-type, its only weakness is Fighting, you could teach it Psychic. You can go for a Physical or Special Route, depending on how you want to use this God of a Pokemon.

Arceus has a MONSTROUS movepool, so it's quite possible I missed something important. It's easy to make a good movepool for it though. Just open that bag, and look for a TM. Chances are, he can learn it. =P

EDIT: Like Trachy said, Electric is also a great type, due to its one weakness and three resistances (electric, steel, and flying). I simply picked normal because of the versatile typing, and easy STAB for both Last Resort and Hyper Voice.

I have a single complaint with keeping it normal, no Plate boost for Judgement. Judgement is the one move that you need to get. Much better than Hyper Voice.

Swords Dance Boosts Arceus' already good attack to nice levels.
Shadow Force is an awasome Ghost type move, only Arceus and Giratina can learn it so it's pretty awasome, STAB.
Brick Break hits Steel-, Dark- and Normal-types super effectively all whom recist Shadow Force.
Does give perfect coverage along with Shadow Force.
ExtremeSpeed allows Arceus to hit faster revengekillers, Recover lets Arceus get up more Swords Dances and is good for staying healthy overall.

Ask and you shall recieve. Here is a physical moveset for Arceus, the pokemon god. I use it myself in my ubers team, and it works VERY well.

Arceus
Adamant nature (life orb/leftovers)
EVs: 252 Atk, 252 Spd, and 4 HP

Swords dance is a very helpful move, as Arceus can take almost any hit and, after a swords dance, is an instant powerhouse. Extremespeed is one of the premier moves, to be used right after SD to demolish the opponent's team. Earthquake takes out the rock and steel types. Recover is used to increase Arceus's longevity. Why no plate, you ask? Well, Arceus, being a normal type, already has only one weakness, and you can really notice the difference of power when you have a life orb instead of a plate, and the main move is extremespeed, so why would you change the type when you can have a life orb boosted STAB move with +2 priority? Leftovers is also a good item to be used instead of life orb, though you will definitely notice the lack of ridiculous power that life orb gives.

You do not need splash plate to perform in the Rain, he even works as Groudon Killer! Judgement is his signature move, always STAB, it has 180 Base-power and is super-effective on Groudon, it will always OHKO unless full EVs are spent in Groudon's S.Defense and HP, and it has super-effective coverage on about half of the rest of Uber as well. Thunder get 100% with Kyogre support and his great coverage paired with Judgement. Shadow-ball is awesome coverage in Uber. Recover is for you to last longer while Calm-mind would be for boosting.

Cosmic power makes your defenses over 500 after one use. Recover is for healing. Toxic is for stalling while Will-o-wisp can also be used but can be used to cut opponents attack. I have 3 favorite types, and dark probably comes out on top of the bunch.
But Arceus-dark? Oh... I love it.

Judgement is that jacked up STAB that everyone loves, and when I say jacked up, I mean 100 base power, 100 accuracy, Dread Plate boosted STAB.

Earthquake is awesome coverage, especiall when paired with Ice Beam and Brick Break! :D

Dark, Ground, Ice and Fighting hits 152 pokemon for Normal Effectiveness, and 511 for super effectiveness. That's the awesome part about arceus, he can run awesome coverage.

According to the type checker, Fire + Dragon give almost perfect neutral coverage. I know that it does not account for abilities and the only Pokemon I can think of that resist this is Flash Fire Heatran.

So yea, Fire Judgement is powerful STAB, and in the Sun...BAWS. Spacial Rend is for consistent damage while Draco Meteor is more hit-&-run, so your choice.

Earth Power is for Heatran and coverage that might be too bulky for Draco-Flare * cough * Steel-Types * cough *.

The last slot is also your choice. SolarBeam is for Sun teams and powerful coverage, but if you are afraid that the weather might be changed on you, go for Energy Ball.
