Meta Battle Subway PokeBase - Pokemon Q&A

What is a good moveset for Azumarill?

2 votes

Just got it in a trade. It came with:

Aqua Tail: Takes advantage of Huge Power, good damage, decent accuracy, STAB.

Dig: Good power, high accuracy, dodges some moves, used to deal with Electric types.

Ice Beam: Good power, high accuracy, used to deal with Grass types.

Aqua Ring: Useful healing move. Can combat recurring damage.

Likely tier: Neverused. right?
Azumarill (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Huge Power
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Aqua Jet
- Body Slam
- Superpower
- Ice Punch
Marill (M) @ Evolution Stone
Trait: Huge Power
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Aqua Jet
- Cheer Up
- Ice Punch
- Brick Break
Um.. I've been trying to get Aqua Jet on my Azumarill but how exactly do you GET aqua jet on it? :o
To Aqua Jet you have to breed a male Buizel or Floatzel that knows Aqua Jet with a female Marill or Azumarill. The resulting child will have Aqua Jet.
Evolution Stone = Eviolite?
I'm pretty sure he meant Everstone, because why would you wanna waste an item that raises your Defense and Sp. Def to a pokemon that already has amazing defenses?
Eviolite=evolution stone

Actually Icebeam is a bad idea teach it ice punch instead adn instead of aqua tail go aqua jet.
allows priority and given his immense strength would allow you to take on swappers

Gen V

Replace Aqua Tail with Waterfall

Replace Dig with Bulldoze (for accuracy, lowering speed and no need to take 2 turns)

If there exists any way to learn Ice Punch, replace Ice Beam. Otherwise breed Body Slam.

Actually, there is a Move Tutor that teaches you ThunderPunch, IcePunch and FirePunch in Driftveil City. You're talking about BWB2W2, right? I'm forgettting what is Gen IV or Gen V or Gen VI.

Azumarill @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 252 HP, 252 Atk, 4 Def
Nature: Adamant

It barely needs Waterfall when its attack is maxed & has Aqua Jet.

Azumarill, here we go :P

Azumarill @ Choice Band ( With decent defenses it will resist some hits )

Huge Power ( 654 Attack with choice band on!)

Adamant Nature (+ Att - Sp Att )

EVS: 252 Attack / 128 Defence / 128 Special Def

  • Aqua Jet
Gets STAB and priority, so why not
  • Ice Punch
Great coverage, get those pesky dragons
  • Brick Break
Coverage, you can also use Superpower, but this one is more reliable
  • Bulldoze
Coverage, also lowers opponent speed, so its good against some sweepers

Azumarill@Mystic Water/Leftovers
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 252 Atk/ 84 Def/ 84 HP/ 84 SpDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SpAtk)
-Aqua Jet
-Belly Drum
-Rest
-Sleep Talk
This set-up is quite fun to unleash upon unsuspecting friends. You use Belly Drum, then Rest, then use Sleep Talk to spam your priority Aqua Jet, and repeat (minus Belly Drum, of course). The mystic water is only their to make your already STAB Aqua Jet even more annoying. You can switch it Leftovers for a bit more sustain. Have fun trolling! :)

It's not a guarantee that the Azumarill will use Aqua Jet when it uses Sleep Talk, so be aware of that.

Teach it surf instead of aqua tail. Its got higher power and accuracy.
Then you have an awsome azumarril

answered Jul 16, 2010 by Swampert
Waterfall works too, sorry, id forgotten what huge power did
That's okay. It's not one that is in the minds of most people since only the Marill family tree can have it.

Well, I think Azumarill should have this...

Ability: Sap sipper= takes care of one weakness.
Item: Leftovers
Moves:
Waterfall: Good power, Chance of flinch
Dig/Bulldoze: Dig has better power, but is a 2 turn move, Bulldoze lowers speed but low power.
Aqua Ring: To heal...

Where's the 4th move?

Aqua (Azumarill) (F) @ Cell Battery

Trait: Huge Power Because along with Cell Battery and good defense, Electric Types get a nasty surprise.

EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Spd / 252 Def

Relaxed Nature

  • Bulldoze Again, nasty surprise for Electrics.

  • Aqua Jet Priroty, which is always fun.

  • Aqua Ring Healing!

  • Ice Punch Great power and takes care of dragons and grass types.

Trust me, Azumarill makes one of the best "Water Tanks" around thanks to Aqua Ring and Huge Power.

Ability: Huge Power

Item: @Leftovers

Moves:

Aqua Ring (Heals Azumarill each turn, Assists @Leftovers to recover HP)

Double-Edge (Doubles in power due to ability, Heals from recoil every turn due to @Leftovers and Aqua Ring, Good offensive move, Good accuracy)

Dig (Helps evade attacks, Doubles in power due to ability, Coverage against Fire-Types, Rock-Types, Electric-Types, and Poison-Types) [And I think Ice-Types, but I could be wrong]

Muddy Water or Ice Punch (Muddy Water - STAB, Doubles in power due to ability, Decent accuracy, Lowers target's accuracy, Coverage against Fire-Types, Ground-Types, and Rock-Types) or (Ice Punch - Good accuracy, May freeze the target, Doubles in power due to ability, Coverage against Grass-Types, Flying-Types, Dragon-Types, and Ground-Types)

**Try to avoid the move Skill Swap because it'll reverse the effect of the ability Huge Power.

The destructive power of this Blue Pikachu is reflected in this extremely powerful moveset. Behold BellyJet Azumarill.

Rum-Pa-Dum(Azumarill) (F) @ Sitrus Berry
Ability:Huge Power
EVs:244HP/252Att/4Def/8SpDef
Adamant Nature(+Att, -SpAtt)
-Aqua Jet
-Play Rough
-Superpower/Waterfall
-Belly Drum

I am not kidding. Azumarill is ridiculously powerful right now. I feel that it is one of the most buffed Pokemon this Generation. Just switch in on something that you can force out or cannot threaten you, set up with Belly Drum, and then proceed to utterly destroy your opponent. 244 HP EVs give you 206 Health at lv 50 and 402 Health at lv100.

After a Belly Drum, your health will hit 50%, and Sitrus Berry activates to heal 25% HP. If done right, you now have a beast with +6 of essentially 436 ATTACK (After the Huge Power boost) with 75% HP to spare. Proceed to spam Aqua Jet, squish Dragons with Play Rough, and obliterate Ferrothorn and Skarmory (after Sturdy's broken) with Superpower. If you dont like Superpower's attack and defence drops, you can go with Waterfall instead.

There you go. The wrath of BellyJet Azumarill. The other EVs are put into both Defences to give Azumarill the bulk to get off a Belly Drum.

This is my first time with this, but:

Gen 6
Azumarill

Ability: Sap Sipper or Huge Power
Sap Sipper causes a nasty surprise to all grass types who hit it, making it immune to taking grass type attacks altogether, while increasing the attack stat.
Huge Power just basically increases the power of all it's physical attack moves.
Nature: Adamant
EV spread: 252 HP, 252 Attack, 4 Speed
Item: Shell Bell/ Leftovers/ Choice Band

Moves:

Aqua Tail/ Aqua Jet/ Waterfall

pros and cons
Aqua tail hits hardest of these, but as lowest pp, and has some chance to miss. Aqua jet has least power, but adds priority, most pp. Waterfall has next to most powerful hits, has chance to flinch, and has good pp for the power.

Play Rough

A powerful stab that might lower the physical attack of it's target.

Bounce/ Ice Punch

Pros and Cons
Bounce hits them naughty fighting type that may not be hit well against the fairy type move, Play Rough, such as Croagunk, and Toxicroak, and use poison type attacks, which are super effective to our pretty little Azumarill, and has a chance to paralyze, but it has only 5 pp, and 85% accuracy. Not to mention, moves like Gust, Twister, and similar moves will hit harder than normal, while up in the air. Ice Punch has a chance to cause freezing, but isn't as powerful as Bounce, and leaves risk against fighting types that know poison type attacks.

Bulldoze/ Dig

To cause added protection against poison types, and protect it against Electric types, while reducing speed. But it has weaker power, but without the risk of getting hit by massive ground type attack, while using Dig. Dig has more power, can avoid most attacks, but if hit by moves like Earthquake, Bulldoze, and similar attacks, will take more damage than normal.
