Meta Battle Subway PokeBase - Pokemon Q&A

What is a good moveset for Breloom?

10 votes

Mine has the ability Poison Heal and it holds a Toxic Orb. It knows:

Stone Edge: Highpower, good chance for critical hit, used to deal with Flying, Ice, and Fire types.

Sky Uppercut: Good power, decent accuracy, can attack Pokemon using Fly, STAB.

Seed Bomb: Good power, high accuracy, STAB.

Spore: Puts the foe to Sleep.

Wow, this question wasn't asked before?
I had the exact same idea than you for the poison heal moveset, but I finally switched Sky uppercut by Drain punch since it's really rare to fight a pkmn that has Fly. The Technician moveset is really great!
Bulky Sword's Dance Sweeper

Breloom (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Technician
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
-Mach Punch
-Bullet Seed
-Sword's Dance
Breloom@Life Orb
EV: 252 Spe, 252 Atk, 6 Def
Adamant Nature(+Atk, -SAtk)
-Mach Punch
-Bullet Seed
-Rock Tomb
Breloom w/leftovers
Ability: Poison heal
Note: Must be used in double/triple battle. Has to get hit by toxic from teammate.
Leech Seed(heal)
Giga Drain(heal, STAB)
Hi-Jump Kick(very strong, you will heal right away, STAB)
Double Team(Makes you unable to get hit a lot)

You heal all the way in 1 turn! Only flaw is once I fainted from GUST. NEVER use this against grass or flying(definitely not both)

You're Swords Dance Techloom is Great!
You've got my vote!!!
(Tested on Showdown!!!)
Answering your own question, I see? Well...that's just fine.
You're allowed to do that on moveset questions and other such thread posts. I think I'd check the rules before ridiculing a mod.
When does Breloom learn those moves?
I would switch the Lefties with a Life Orb, but thats still a good.

Nice EV spread.
It's yours LOL
I knew it looked familiar :P
He isnt doing anything to ghost types apart from leech seed
Trevenant can wall the heck out of this thing and curse him
Soo why Jolly instead of timid?
Edit: Actually you placed the wrong stat changes -> "Jolly Nature (+Spd, -Atk)"
This is old post don't tell them they did something wrong no one will notice
Just trying to help passerbies that get confused.

Breloom @ Toxic Orb

Trait: Poison Heal

EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spe

Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SpA)

  • Spore
  • Swords Dance
  • Seed Bomb
  • Drain Punch

Spore is the best sleep inducing move.
Swords Dance boosts attack to nice levels.
Seed Bomb is good STAB and takes care of Water types.
Drain Punch is STAB and healing and works great with Poison Heal.

Nature Jolly, Evs 4hp, 252attack, 252speed

Mach punch(Your only defense against Weavile STAB)

Seed bomb(STAB)

Stone edge(Coverage)

Same nature and evs as before

Focus Punch(STAB)

Stone edge(Coverage)

Give it posion heal and have it hold the toxic orb

The first set is not very good. It won't defend against Weavile, since it will be Mach Munch Vs. Ice Shard, and in that Speed Fight, Weavile will go first. OHKO on Breloom. It's best to just have a Skarmory, Heatran, or Crobat (Revenge Kill only) to take care of Weavile.
What an epic move mach munch so serious thats awesome
Mach Munch! *eats some food* lol
(Agrees with puller rush ^_^)
I disagree with will, use carbos to increase speed, as this works on pretty much any pokèmon you happen to run into, hope this helped:)
Carbos raises EVs, and even max speed Breloom has no hope of taking on stabdard Life Orb Weavile.
Anyway, these are competitive sets, so using a carbos is completely pointless-- just max out its evs in speed. Also, base 70 with 252 Spe EVs even with a beneficial nature has no chance in hitting base 125 with 252 Spe EVs, even without a beneficial nature.
Not all are competitive sets.

My favourite pokemon its abilty should be effect spore, because even though toxic orb stops other status moves its like leftovers. If you do Evs put them in attack and speed, Nature adamant (atk+ Satk-) and either life orb or muscle band

First of all mach punch, stab and priority and coverage. Then sky uppercut if any wants to use fly counter attack with sky uppercut, stab and power. Then seed bomb for a powerful STAB and stoneedge with lots of coverage

Tons of Shroomish movesets that i made

Shroomish (M) @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Quick Feet / Poison Heal
EVs: 116 HP / 116 Atk / 116 Def / 116 SDef
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Seed Bomb
- Swords Dance
- Drain Punch
- Toxic

Swords dance raises your attack to be useable. Seed bomb offers STAB, Drain Punch for healing, and toxic works with decent offenses.

Shroomish (M) @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Quick Feet/ Poison Heal
EVs: 116 HP / 116 Def / 116 SAtk / 116 SDef
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)/ Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Giga Drain
- Fake Tears
- Toxic
- Venoshock

Special attacking set. Giga drain is STAB and healing, while fake tears can force some switches. Toxic and venoshock combo is awesome.
Timid for Poison Heal, Modest for Quick Feet.

Shroomish (M) @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 116 HP / 116 Atk / 116 Def / 116 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Seed Bomb
- Wake-Up Slap
- Spore
- Leech Seed / Swords Dance

Another physical set, using Spore and Wake-Up-Slap. Spore first, then set up Swords Dance or leech seed. Then, use Wake-Up-Slap. Seed Bomb is STAB.

Shroomish (M) @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 116 HP / 196 Def / 196 SDef
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Giga Drain
- Spore
- Leech Seed
- Protect

Stall Set. Giga Drain is STAB and healing, Spore for stalling, Leech seed for sapping health, and protect for even more stalling!

I can't believe no one posted this set yet!

Breloom @ Toxic Orb
Poison Heal
252 Atk/ 4 HP/ 252 Spe

Mach Punch
Seed Bomb
Stone Edge

Facade returns better than ever! Loom here gets both a 100% boost in Facade making it a base 140 power, and it heals him at the same time too! So Facade is for hitting anything that does not resist it hard. Mach Punch is to finished guys off. And it indeed you do finish a poke off, you alos get a free turn of healing. Seed Bomb is to hit annoying water pokes especially Jellicent who resists the rest of his moves here. Stone Edge is to hit flying pokes and for coverage.

answered Jan 29, 2013 by DracoArceus
I would personally take spore over stone edge, facade will take most flying types

Breloom- Shed shell

Solarbeam/Seed Bom | Focus Punch

Giga Drain | Sunny Day/Rest

Breloom uses sunny day to start, then solar beam for damage, giga drain to restore HP, and focus punch to do damage.

Sorry! For me, it is all move sets.
What's the point of Shed Shell?
uh........ Special Attacks are pretty much useless on Breloom and Focus-punch is useless without Spore or Substitute.
Shed shell is so it can switch. and I don't care about other focus punch.
Need nature and EV's

Item: Focus-sash
Ability: Technician
Nature: Jolly
EVs: 252 Attack, 252 Speed, 6 Hp

Swords-dance boosts your already great Attack to HUGE levels. Mach-punch is STAB priority and is boosted by Technician. Bullet-seed STAB and boosted by Technician it even breaks Subs and what else? it makes Coffee :D. Stone-edge provide coverage over Flying types.

answered Nov 17, 2011 by Speed freak
Why not try rock tomb which has 10 better accuracy and is only somewhat weaker after technician and has a good chance to lower their speed

Seriously..... No one used Thunder Punch, One of the four moves that can counter his 4x weakness (The others are Stone Edge, Rock Tomb and Rock Slide).
Nature : Adamant
Ev : 252 Attack, 252 Hp, 4 Sp. Defense
Seed Bomb (STAB)
Sky Uppercut/Force Palm/Drain Punch/Superpower (STAB)
Mach Punch (Priority+STAB) or Synthesis/Spore/Protect (To survive more)
Stone Edge/Thunder Punch (Coverage)

Breloom is awesome, shame he can't learn e-quake T_T

Subseed Breloom @ Toxic Orb
Impish Nature (-SpA, +Def)
236Hp, 252Def, 20Spe

~Leech Seed
~Focus Punch

This set is incredibly annoying, but also useful. Defense and HP investment allow Breloom with it's good typing to take many physical hits and put the opponent to sleep allowing for easy set up of substitutes. After Leech seed is set up and you have a substitute, continue setting them up as they knock them down to stall them to death getting 24% healing/turn with Toxic orb-seed combo. If they switch instead, hit them with seed and start over again. Focus Punch is for threats that are weak against fighting and still packs a great deal of damage with no investment in attack.

Breloom.. I hate this guy... :c.. SPORE OP!

Trait : Poison heal
Item : Toxic orb
EV's : Dump everything on ATT and SPD and put the left overs anywhere. o_O

-Spore - The reason I hate fighting this thing ._.
-Seed Bomb - STAB.
-Leech seed - Paired up with Poison Heal, you cant die :D.
-Drain punch- Umm.. You get the idea. I get wrecked by flying types <3

Breloom moveset:

The ultimate killer/healer combo:

Ability: Poison Heal
Item: Toxic Orb
Poisonpowder- slowly destroying the enemy
Leech seed- helps with Poisonpowder and heals HP
Drain punch- deals damage while stealing HP, plus STAB
Giga Drain- same thing as Drain Punch, and more STAB

I recommend training shroomish until it learns giga drain.

answered Jul 11, 2013 by Mega Dragoon
Giga Drain isn't very good, try Seed Bomb. Breloom has better attack that Special attack.
Ok, thanks, but this is for healing
Well... Breloom already has two healing moves, so I guess I can take out giga drain and put in seed bomb.
Toxic would be better than poison powder, grass types resist powder moves and it's also more damage over time.
