One at a time, and the Hackmons is going.
Mike passed last time his tourney was up, so he might not want to go again anyways. Someone should ask him next they see him.
We need to start a tour. Mike's in chat pretty often so I'll ask if he wants to do his tour this time round, or if we just go to the Mono-Smeargle tour.

I talked to Mike and Doc. We think Mew should host Mike's tour :3
In any case. We need to get a tour started. Heck I'll host it if no one else wants to.
Yeah who posts doesn't matter as long as they are active and are capable of hosting.
Tournament coming soon!

The DB_Tourney is my suggestion!!!

Now before you start scratching your head in confusion, let me explain.

You are allowed to make a team made up of the famous DB Pokemon. You know. Stuff like Mismagious for Hex, Lucario/Torterra for SF, Typhlosion for DT, etc. I am working on a list of approved Pokemon so the metagame will be fair...

I don't know much about rules and stuff, so you guys could take care of that if possible.
Just something I thought up ;D

List in Progress: Typhlosion (DT), Charizard (Trachy), Lucario (SF), Torterra(SF), Mismagious(Hex), Swampert (Swampert), Mew (Mew :3), Amoonguss (Mew) Politoed (Josh), Wobuffet (Wobuffet33), Gallade (Fritjof), Porygon2(Pika), Genescet(JirachiCelebiMew), Metagross(Holy Name), Starmie(Holy Name), Cobalion(Pokewatt), Volcarona(Pokewatt), Victini(Dr.Flame), Darkrai (Fate Itself), Zoroark(Ninja), Rapidash (Rapidash43586), Phanphy(Rio), Kingdra(Kingdra), Tyranitar (Victini Victory), Gastrodon (Devil's Advocate), Reniculus (The Pika), Meganium (trachy's brother/Trent), Froslass (Mega Griveous), Hippowdown(Gigaslash), Landrous(Feel Good), Absol(Absol), Slowbro(B3N), Gyarados (ErickHill) Dragonite(ErickHill)

In terms of metagame: Probably no Ubers, so sorry Fate.

EDIT: OK, I've worked something out. Because of all the mixed tiers, we'll have two groups you can battle in: RU and OU. We'll probably take out some of the overpowered Pokemon, probably Darkrai. This will even out the tiers a bit.

One more from me, can't really think of a name for it.

  • 16 people can participate.
  • Once all contestants have signed up, a deadline will be given. Competitors can battle anyone they want in the tourney. No matchups are given. So if me, Riles, Unrecognizable, and UberPwnage sign up, I can challenge any one of the 3 contestants that are present.
  • You can battle as many times as you want. Meaning you can battle 80 times if you wanted to. All battling ends on the deadline.
  • The tier that the battle will be is determined by the agreement between the two battlers.
  • A point system determines who is kicked out of the tournament. All competitors start with 10 points. Gaining and losing of points is determined by the amount of Pokemon the winner has left. Let's say I 6-0 Riles. I would gain 6 points, and he would lose 6. If I 1-0 him, I would win 1, he'd lose 1. The 8 people who have the most points after the deadline move to round 2; the 4 people who have the most points in round 2 will go to round 3, and so on. Points are rest each round to make battling happen, If there is a tie, the people with the tie must battle it out to proceed.
  • FEAR, SmashPass, OHKO moves, and Entrainment are banned.
  • Smogon's banlist applies.
  • Smogon's tiers are used.

Oh My Arcues...... lol
But good idea Mew
A few problems with the tourney. I love it, just some things that wouldn't work.
 - would you keep your points hidden?
 - what if you battled once and lost, and your opponent refuses to battle you again?
There are no matchups. Points will be displayed in your answer.

The Trent's Tournament!!!

Taken from Trent's gym leader style. Here's how it will work. You are selected six random numbers, (randit feature) from 1-649. If it's a NU or Uber you are respun. You can get one new spin, but only for one Pokemon. Then do whatever you want with the Pokemon, EVs, nature, etc. It sounds like fun!

Remember, upvote this if you like it!!!

I liked that dine/battle thing that was cool :3
Woah there are some really good NU Pokemon.
I'd cry if i get Amoonguss and i have to re-spin =='
There's a reason NU pokemon aren't in the UU and OU teir you know.

THE NO-STAB & DISADVANTAGE TOURNAMENT

Okay this is basically how it goes. This will be Standard OU. But there is a catch. All your Pokemon's move cant be STAB and they have to cover the Pokemon's weakness. (The no STAB is for the people who want to try bring dragons types and stuff) So your moveset should look something like this:
Starmie (M) BLAH
EVs: BLAH BLAH BLAH
Nature:BLAH
Moveset:Power Gem,Hidden Power(Ground),Thunder Wave, Ice Beam

In other words you can only have Status Moves and all attacking moves have to be super-effective against the type(s) you are weak too. Okay so now that I have more time here are the rules.

  • No Pokemon can have STAB moves
  • No Ubers
  • Sleep Clause, Species Clause, Item Clause
  • Two Pokemon must be from NU,Two from OU,and Two from RU

There are plenty of STAB coverage. Lanturn, Manoswine, and any ghost type.
^ Sexy Starmie :3
"No pokemon can have STAB moves unless the STAB move covers one of its weaknesses.(But i dont think any pokemon fits that) '' -- ghost and dragon types can beg to differ.
how about i just make it "No STAB" since you guys want to get smart :P
You've basically taken my idea and changed it tbh. -1

The grand Double Elimination UU tournament!

UU, but with some twists.

Rules:

The following Pokemon are banned at all times:

  • Pokemon from the following tiers are banned: Ubers, Overused, and Borderline.

  • Pokemon from tiers not mentioned above may be used. For a list, see here.

  • You may not have two Pokemon with the same Pokedex Number.

The following Moves are banned at all times:

  • You may not use moves that involve the lowering of Accuracy in any way, nor raising of Evasion.

  • You may not have the OHKO moves. (Fissure, Guillotine, Horn Drill, or Sheer Cold.)

The following Items are banned at all times:

  • Forgot our usual list of banned items, lol. You know what they are. Don't use them.

Other rules in place, they must be followed:

  • You may not put two of your opponent's Pokemon to sleep at the same time.

  • Moody is banned.

  • Shadow Tag + Entrainment is banned.

  • SmashPassing is banned.

  • If you try your luck with Mtronome, breaking one of the above rules is permitted only when using Metronome.

-Unreleased DW abilities are permitted.

  • This will be Double Elimination. Loser's Redemption returns!

This will be fun, for sure. Hope you guys like this.

And before you say we had one already I know that it was still fun

Are you tired of the standards of today battles. All the predictions, all the trolls, all the boost, all the items, all the Pokemon that can just be plain boring and weak in any team you build, and yes even all tiers.Who wants to rely on skill and predictions to win battles when you have luck on your side Well I invite you to come on down to the metronome tourney. Who needs predictions when you dont even know what move you will get. Lets see who the master of luck is.

Rules:

  • You can use the same Pokemon on the team 6 times if you really want too.
  • No beneficial natures meaning all your natures have to be neutral.(Hardy,Docile,Bashful,Quirky,Serious.)
  • You can have any EVs you want but not anything too ridiculous(over 252 in any stat)
  • There will be some Pokemon banned, ill put those in when the tournament starts
  • Species Clause and Item Clause is off, Sleep-Clause,Self-Ko is on.
  • Your pokemon must have Leppa Berry as their item NO EXCEPTIONS
  • Your Pokemon can have no other move than Metronome.

We already had this, just saying.
We know, look at the title lolz

The NFL NU tourney!

Now, before I explain how the NFL ties in to this tourney I am going to have to explain how drafting in the NFL works for those of you who don't know.

The National Football League Draft is an annual event in which the National Football League (NFL) teams select eligible college football players and it is their most common source of player recruitment. The basic design of the draft is that each team is given a position in the drafting order in reverse order relative its record in the previous year—the last place gets positioned first. With this position, the team can either select a player or trade their position to another team for other positions, a player, or players, or any combination thereof. After each team had utilized its position in the drafting order, whether by trading it or selecting a player, a round would be complete. Certain aspects of the draft, including team positioning and the number of rounds in the draft, have seen revisions since its first creation in 1936, but the fundamental methodology has remained the same. The original rationale in creating the draft was to increase the competitive parity between the teams as the worst team would, idealistically, have chosen the best player available. - Wikipedia

So, basically we take the above system, tweak it a bit to fit a Pokemon tournament, and then we get our 16 participants, and the Pokemon in their teams will be drafted. The order of who gets to draft first will be randomized, and after the draft takes place, trades will be allowed. So whoever is first picks 1 Pokemon from NU that they wanna use, adn then the second person, and the third, and so on until everyone has their teams. After the draft participants will have a day or two to trade, example: participant #5 sees that participant #9 has drafted Duosion, so he offers participant #9 Vanilluxe for Duosion, particiapnt #9 could then accept, decline, or make a counter offer. It would be on PO and PS, 16 participants, NU because there are a lot of Pokemon in NU, and regular NU bans would apply. Also, if another opponent drafts a Pokemon first, you can not draft that Pokemon, so once a Pokemon is picked, the only way to get it would be to try and trade with the guy that picked it.

The Battle Subway
Seems fitting seen as our Rmt section is the Battle Subway ;)
Normal Battle Subway rules apply.
I dont know them all off heart but the main ones are all pokemon must be lv50 and only 3 pokemon (that are not on the ban list) which are differant species and are honot alowed to hold the same items.
The ban list consists of legenderies.
Though not all are banned.

Single Battle tournement consisting of 16 people with no tier (just a ban list).

This one is pretty simple: The Entry Hazard Ban Tournament!

The name says it all. Lets give all those Hail and Sun Team a break by banning the things that make their job oh so difficult: Entry Hazards! In this Tourney, what we will try to accomplish is to see who can be one to take adavantage of this Tourney the most(Don't be the idiot who runs a Sand Team in this Tourney). We will try to experiment the potential Pokes will have if things like Stealth Rock are banned. Shall we commence with the rules?

  • Volcarona and Ninjask are banned, too powerful in this Tourney.
  • Standard clauses apply
  • Any weather is allowed, but think before you rush and choose the common one.
  • This is an Entry Hazard Ban Tourney, take adavantage of it!!!
  • OU Tourney.

Now, lets put those NU Pokes to work.

I have another one: The imperfect accuracy tourney.

This is basically a standard OU tournament, but you cannot use moves with 100 accuracy. Moves like Waterfall, Earthquake, Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, U-turn are banned. Moves with perfect accuracy like Aerial Ace, Shock Wave, and Aura Sphere are still allowed. So an example of an accepted moveset is:

Gyarados (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)

  • Dragon Dance
  • Aqua Tail
  • Ice Fang
  • Stone Edge

As you can see, none of the moves have a 100 accuracy. Waterfall was swapped for the more unreliable Aqua Tail, Ice Fang can still remain because it has a 95 accuracy, and Stone Edge is used over Earthquake.

Rules:

  • PO and Showdown are allowed.
  • 16 people may enter.
  • No OHKO moves, FEAR, SmashPass, or Entrainment.
  • Most stat boosting moves will be allowed.
  • No moves with 100 accuracy are allowed.
  • Smeargle is banned.
  • The move Hone Claws is banned.
  • The ability No Guard is banned. Machamp, Machoke, Machop, Golett, and Golurk must use other abilities.

The Hunger Games Tournament!

The Hunger Games celebration! In memory of "The Mockingjay", we will only use Bird Pokemon in this tournament! Or Bird-Like Pokemon. Not exactly Mono-Flying because you might take a Pokemon that can fly but isn't a flying type.

So far, I've thought of these Pokemon:

  • Pidgey/ Pidgeotto/Pidgeot, which no one is probably gonna use

  • Starly/ Staravia/ Staraptor, which is probably gonna get used

  • Spearow/ Fearow.

  • Tailow/ Swellow

  • Togetic/ Togekiss, no Togepi as it can't fly.

  • Jirachi

  • Celebi

  • Mew, Get it? Jirachi-Celebi-Mew! But Mew is way too powerful.

  • Landorus/ Landorus-T

  • Salamence

  • Skarmory

  • Volcarona

  • Azelf

  • Zubat/ Golbat/ Crobat

Yeah, I don't remember all of them but I do these. Anyway, remember kids, up-voting this answer is a part of this nutritious breakfast!

The Pokemon NBA!

Basically, you will have 5 Pokemon, instead of 6, and some moves will be banned. Also, your Pokemon can be picked, but level depends on tier.

Magikarp, Feebas, etc: lvl 100

LC: 95

PU: 90

NU: 85

RU: 80

UU: 75

OU: 70

Uber: 60

Simple. No T-Spikes, and no moves can be special.

The Battle Frontier

I have a suggestion. How about a Battle Frontier style Tournament?

*Battle Frontier? Whats that?
The Battle Frontier Tournament is a point-based Tournament that is won by placing the highest in each mini-Tournament. In opposed to classical elimination Tournaments, the Frontier will allow each player to stay in and continuously battle until the Tournament is over. Places can be earned, which range from 1st to 3rd (this range can be expanded depending on how many participants we have).

*The Point (BP) System!
In addition to that, the Frotier will use a system of points called "BP", which is the same system used in the Official Pokemon games. The BP can be used to make a team stronger, because each team will be assigned randomly at the beginning.

Teams will be Randomly Given
A team of six Pokemon will be randomly assigned in a fashion similar to PO's CC tier (not to be confused with Showdown's Random Battle tier, which gives standard sets), and of those 3, 6 will be chosen. Of course, if you feel a team is too weak, then you can request to be randomized again. Each participant will get 3 tries, and has the option to take the best of those 3 tries, as to make things less luck based. Note that you can choose from the Try, not the best Pokemon from each. *Don't worry, everyone will have an equal chance of getting a team assigned, so don't fret at being randomly given a team
.

Here is a full explaination on how the Tournament will work, which will also be the Post of the Tournament. If you have any suggestions/objections, comment below so I can improve this idea. To see how the post will look, just hit the "Post an answer" button and copy and paste all the info in the link. Complete with pictures, bolded text, etc.

!- If you know that you would like to be apart of this Tournament, then comment below saying "In" or "I'm in".

!- Since this will be a long Tournament, I'm fine with hosting alongside another as not to monopolize the Tournaments.
!- I will need at least 2 mods to help me host the Tournament, as I might not always be available.
Hope you like this idea!

Sharks and Minnows.

Howdy, Gliguys and Gligirls! Well let me explain my thoughts. There will be two groups. The sharks, and the minnows. The sharks will have pokemon with higher [special] attack than [special] defense (seeing as sharks are brutal and strong) and they must have over 100 base special attack AND attack. The minnows are pokemon that have more [special] defense than [special] attack. Eviolite counts. They must have atleast over 100 base special defense AND defense. The way you get to either team is with a random number generator. If they get a one, they go to shark team. If they get a 2 they go to the minnow team. If there are only spots for a certain team left (e.g. everyone possible joined the shark team) the rest of the people will have to join the minnow team. After you have went to a team, you will go to another random number generator. You will get a number 1-8. The ones of the shark team will fight the minnow's 1 for the other team. Each battle are either OU or UU. The two battlers decide. If you win, you get two points, if you lose you get 0 points and if you tie you each get one point. Whoever has the most wins!

RECAP (For the lazy)

  • 16 people may enter
  • Two groups (Sharks and Minnows)
  • Sharks must have higher attack than defense OR higher special attack than special defense.
  • Minnows must have higher defense than attack OR higher special defense than special attack. Eviolite will still count, so if a pokemon has 50 attack and 30 defense, eviolite would give it 60 defense meaning its viable to use in the tourney.
  • The team you go to depends on a number generator. If you get 1 you are a shark but if you get a 2 you get to be a minnow.
  • After you go to your team, you will get another number (1-8 because 8 people are on your team) and if you get a 1, you must battle the 1 on the opposing team. Etc.
  • All battles will be either OU or UU. You and your opponent must decide. If you can't decide then the host will decide.
  • Win – 2 Pts. Lose – 0 Pts. Tie – 1 Pt for each.
answered Jan 30 by Gligurr
Lve dat pic. xD
Eviolite would actually give it 45 Def.

The Kill yourself Tourney.

Yeah, that's what it's called. It's a double battle tourney where the goal is to kill your own team. The point is, the first person to demolish their entire team wins.

Moves such as Explosion are not allowed. Items that harm the holder are not allowed. The usual banned items are banned, and this is OU. You may have a max of two Pokemon on your team with Destiny Bond.
Here's the thing: You must make a synergized, balanced team for this tourney. No making a team of Celebi, Magmortar, and 4 Magikarp in an attempt to demolish your team quickly.
Now, I realize that since you don't want your opponent's team to faint, Moves that affect the entire area, such as Earthquake, would probably not be used. To make this more challenging, I require that every team for the tourney have at least one Pokemon with a move such as Surf or Earthquake in their moveset. If you don't use it, then it wastes a moveslot. If you do use it, you risk helping your opponent. Your choice.

This will be a tourney for 8 players. If it gets a lot of popularity, I'll edit this to say 12.

NOTE
You may find a situation where you cannot defeat all six of your Pokemon. So I am editing the rules so that the first person to defeat 5 Pokemon wins. defeating the sixth is not required for winning.

I WILL NOT HOST.

I would totally join this tournament
*Wipes away tear* It's beautiful...
OK, I edited this to have more specific rules, 'cause while I was in bed last night I realized that there were way too many loopholes. Please reread it.
And thanks for the support.
Um you might want to put in something about having one water type and five fires, cause that would be cheap too. Maybe a rule like only one pokemon of each type unless they have a different second type.
That's what I meant by a balanced team. You have to use a team that you would normally use to defeat your opponent.
Ok I get that now. I really hope this gets chosen *crosses fingers*

Moltres, the Spring Spirit

The arrival of Spring is imminent and with it comes yet another cycle of the seasons. With Winter gone and Spring about, Articuno rest it's frosty wings, while Moltres is rebirthed to in fiery pride. Lo'! Spring is here, so let us rejoice with the Databases' First Spring Bowl!

Basic Outline
The Spring Bowl is a series of Tournaments called the Moltres Cup that will lead up to the Spring Bowl itself. Each Tournament will have it's own unique theme and game mode. These individual Tournaments in the Moltres Cup will be used as qualifying rounds for admission to the Spring Bowl. This Tournament will be competed by Teams of 3, which branch out into Individuals in the Spring Bowl.

Rules

  • Smogon's Standard Rules

    • Freeze, Spectator, and Timeout Clauses
  • Banned Items

    • Evasion Boosting (Brightpowder)
    • Soul Dew

  • Banned Strategies

    • ShellSmash
    • Prankster Restalk Phazing/Prankster Copycat Phazing
    • F.E.A.R.

The Spring Bowl will begin on March 20th, given that it is a popular idea by that time. If you have any suggestions on the Themes, Game Modes, or Ideas for the Moltres Cup then comment below. The color tournament.

About:
In this tourney, there will be 16 competitors, who will all be assigned a color at random. From that color, they may choose any 6 Pokemon whose Dex Colour matches the color that they were given. The Pokemon and their colors are listed here. The colours are:

  1. Red
  2. Blue
  3. Green
  4. Yellow
  5. Purple
  6. Pink
  7. Brown
  8. Black
  9. Gray
  10. White

Basic rules:

  • Sixteen competitors are allowed.
  • No exceptions to the above rules. Failure to follow the rules will lead to an automatic loss or disqualification.
  • No Ubers.
  • No Shell Smash + Baton Pass.
  • No Prankster + Copycat Phazing.
  • No F.E.A.R strategies of any kind.
  • The color of a Pokemon is not changed if it is Shiny.
  • One battle only. No rematches, even in the case of hax.

Smogon's clauses & banlist applies.

Note:This is a tourney idea for when Smogon( the people whose tiers are normally used) has adjusted thier tiers to fit the theme of this tourney.

Welcome come one come all to the-

Sixth Generation Premiere Tourney.

Starters

This tourney is designed to let us see just what the new pokemon can do inside the metagame. It will be standard OU but with a catch. Your team must be made of entirely or most (4 out of 6) pokemon introduced in the new Generation to come. Good Luck and Have Fun you will need it.

Note#2:More details to come as more of the new games are reveals and when the Pokemon have all been successfully placed into tiers. If things don't work out how i want them to i will change the rules to better fit the situation, so these rules arnt finalized, so no badgering me in the comments okay :P.

Note#3:Even if this tourney makes it to the top of the list it will not start until all the details have been worked out properly. Im just posting it now before i forget about my idea.

We've all heard of Little Cup, and we've all heard of Monotype, but what about Monotype LC?

Bans

  • Regular LC Bans
  • Hax Items
  • Mono-Ghost Type Teams
  • Mono-Psychic Type Teams
  • Mono-Fighting Type Teams
  • Shell Smash
  • Entry Hazards of any kind
  • Weather

Notes

  • 16 Participants
  • All teams must be made up of LC pokemon
  • All teams must be made up of pokemon that are all of the same type
  • Double-typed pokemon are allowed, as long as one of their types is the type you are using
  • You can use whatever type team you want, bar the 3 that are banned.
  • All rules are negotiable, if you can provide a tangible argument as to why a rule should be added or lifted, it will be done.

Big thanks to Kyron for helping me with the bans
