The Area Tourney

Hey me Jofly got this idea i dont know if it is good or bad. this is my tourney idea all players choose one area in which Region they want. For example if i choose Sinnoh route 201 i can use pokemon that i can catch in in that area like Starly, Bidoof, Kricketot, Dodou, Nidroan(male) and turtwig Gift pokemon is allowed. Then i can use their evolutions like Dodrio, Torterra, ETC. The places for Legendary pokemon is not banned but the legendary pokemon is banned. So if i choose Turnback cave im not allowed to use Giratina but im allowed to use all Non legendary pokemon in the area. All the legendary trios are allowed and some more legendary pokemon. There are the allowed legendaries.

The Kill yourself Tourney.

Yeah, that's what it's called. It's a double battle tourney where the goal is to kill your own team. The point is, the first person to demolish their entire team wins.

Moves such as Explosion are not allowed. Items that harm the holder are not allowed. The usual banned items are banned, and this is OU. You may have a max of two Pokemon on your team with Destiny Bond.
Here's the thing: You must make a synergized, balanced team for this tourney. No making a team of Celebi, Magmortar, and 4 Magikarp in an attempt to demolish your team quickly.
Now, I realize that since you don't want your opponent's team to faint, Moves that affect the entire area, such as Earthquake, would probably not be used. To make this more challenging, I require that every team for the tourney have at least one Pokemon with a move such as Surf or Earthquake in their moveset. If you don't use it, then it wastes a moveslot. If you do use it, you risk helping your opponent. Your choice.

This will be a tourney for 8 players. If it gets a lot of popularity, I'll edit this to say 12.

NOTE
You may find a situation where you cannot defeat all six of your Pokemon. So I am editing the rules so that the first person to defeat 5 Pokemon wins. defeating the sixth is not required for winning.

Um you might want to put in something about having one water type and five fires, cause that would be cheap too. Maybe a rule like only one pokemon of each type unless they have a different second type.

The First Database Spring Bowl

The arrival of Spring is imminent and with it comes yet another cycle of the seasons. With Winter gone and Spring about, Articuno rest it's frosty wings, while Moltres is rebirthed to in fiery pride. Lo'! Spring is here, so let us rejoice with the Databases' First Spring Bowl!

Basic Outline
The Spring Bowl is a series of Tournaments called the Moltres Cup that will lead up to the Spring Bowl itself. Each Tournament will have it's own unique theme and game mode. These individual Tournaments in the Moltres Cup will be used as qualifying rounds for admission to the Spring Bowl. This Tournament will be competed by Teams of 3, which branch out into Individuals in the Spring Bowl.

About:
In this tourney, there will be 16 competitors, who will all be assigned a color at random. From that color, they may choose any 6 Pokemon whose Dex Colour matches the color that they were given. The Pokemon and their colors are listed here. The colours are:

1. Red
2. Blue
3. Green
4. Yellow
5. Purple
6. Pink
7. Brown
8. Black
9. Gray
10. White

Basic rules:

• Sixteen competitors are allowed.
• No exceptions to the above rules. Failure to follow the rules will lead to an automatic loss or disqualification.
• No Ubers.
• No Shell Smash + Baton Pass.
• No Prankster + Copycat Phazing.
• No F.E.A.R strategies of any kind.
• The color of a Pokemon is not changed if it is Shiny.
• One battle only. No rematches, even in the case of hax.

Smogon's clauses & banlist applies.
Don't care who hosts.

Behold... Mono Arceus Tournament

The on-going Smeargle tourney gave me an idea. Why not have a mono-Arceus tourney?
Well, there are some rules of course, you have to have a team full of Arceus, but the twist is that they must be a different type, each. This will stop people from spamming Close Combat all over the place on the Normal Type Arceus' :P

• Every team must be made out of Arceus.
• Each team must have six different types of Arceus.
• Standard Smogon clauses apply.
• You may toggle around with EV's however much you like.
• The only item viable is the plate of the Arceus type you're using.
• Have fun. This is the most important rule of all, and if you disobey, you're out :D

So, this is my idea, hope you like it, and hope this happens! Lez' do this!

THE BABY CUP

its like the little cup but we can only use pokemons that have later devolutions like elekid, smoochum, magby, pichu, etc. we can also use pokemons that have newer evolutions that comes later on like onix, lickitung, sneasel,mukrow. Dont get mixed up with other pokemons like kirlia, eevee, snorunt, etc. which have another evoltuion roots.

Tutor tourney!

This is a type of team tourney where a member joins up with a tutor of theirs, past or present. The tutor basically picks one of his/her apprentices to battle along side with during the event. They will form a team with a team name (logo is not required) and battle other teams.

With the tutor battling the opposing sides tutor and the apprentice battling the opposing apprentice. In the likelihood of winning one losing one then the tutor decides to either fight or let the pupil do it.

Fight with or your heart,soul and pride in order to state yourself as the best teacher or best pupil and declare yourself champion!

EDIT: Some people might get left out. So what I am going to do is if two people wothout a partner join they will be assigned a temporary tutor/apprentice,just to practice with and enter. You do not have to stay as their tutor afterwards. Also, in case you didn't catch you can use previous tutors instead. But the tutor must acknowledge this,you can't just say "oh Hex is my tutor I'm with him!".

I'm gonna get the boring stuff outa da way ;}

1. Full 6v6 battles with no team preview.
2. No Ubers
3. No F.E.A.R
4. No soul dew
5. All basic clauses other than item MUST be on
6. Basic smogon OU banned strategies

Temple Run Tourney

This tournament is based on the game Temple Run 2. There will be road blocks and runners. There will be 8 road blocks and each of them will be one of these tiers: Random, CC, LC, NU, RU, UU, OU, and Uber. There will be 4 Runners. Runners will battle the road blocks in order. If a runner wins, it advances to the next road block. If the runner loses, thy will have to restart from the beginning. The first runner to defeat all 8 blocks will win.

If a runner wins against a road block in less than these turns:
Less than 25 turns = Boost; You get to skip the next road block.
Less than 40 turns = Invincibility; You get another try to defeat the road block if you lose against it. 
Over than 41 turns = Mega Coin; No effect

So heres my idea for a tournement:

There will an odd number of teams. each team will consist of 3 members, each representing one of 3 tiers: Ubers, OU, and UU.

There will be one captain per team, who chooses the tier they wish to champion. The team captain also selects a co-captain, who is also assigned a tier. This will done between me andwhoever wants to help by being a Captain. talk to me on Showdown or in chat. All three captains will select their co-captain, and this will not be public knowledge. DO NOT ASK TO BE A CO-CAPTAIN. if someone wants you, they will ask. Once the Captains and axo-Captains are all selected, the signup board will be posted, with each team as well as who is the capt and co-capt for said team, and what tier they are representing. every team must have one for each tier, and this cannit be switched around. if you sign up for ubers, you are playing ubers. tiers can be changed PRIOR TO TEAM SELECTION, since you may wamt a certain tier that is already full. for this reason all entrants must list their preference in order 1-3 and if needed, they will be assigned whichever is available. your team must win 2/3 tiers against the other team. winner will go on to the next round. we also add a lossers bracket if volume allows. Rules are standard for each tier, Prankster Riolu and other such Apam Startegies will not be allowed. Teams will choose names once all 3 members are assigned and then we will track the battles and victory/losses. if you have any complaints about a strategy that you believe was illegal, we will appoint officials to watch battles and make sure everything is on the up and up. if you wish to be a ref, apply.

NU Tourney! With a twist...

Do you hate when NU has all these Pokemon that aren't as good competitively in the upper tiers?
What happens..when your favorites also get degraded? Ho-Oh in NU? Sounds awesome.
You can now use any Pokemon in the NU tier, no matter what Pokemon it is. There are some rules on bringing down the higher tiers:

Universal rules:

• Weather is banned. Use the weather starters other abilities if you wish to use them.
• Technician is banned in OU and UU.
• Moves that have varying power based on weight and speed bypass the base power restrictions.

Ubers:

• All Pokemon that are running fully offensive movesets can only be at Level 80.
• If you want Level 100 Ubers in the tier, they must be running all status moves or have all moves under base 61 power.
• Blaziken with Speed Boost and Excadrill with Sand Rush are banned, but are allowed with Blaze and one of the other two abilities that Excadrill has.

OU:

• All Pokemon that are running fully offensive movesets can only be at Level 85.
• If you want Level 100 OUs in the tier, they must be running all status moves or have all moves under base 71 power.
• Technician is banned.

UU:

• All Pokemon that are running fully offensive movesets can only be at Level 90.
• If you want Level 100 UUs in the tier, they must be running all status moves or have all moves under base 76 power.
• Technician is banned.

RU:

• All Pokemon that are running fully offensive movesets can only be at Level 95.
• If you want Level 100 RUs in the tier, they must be running all status moves or have all moves under base 76 power.

NU, NFE, LC:

• No bans, except the universal ones.

I'm still deciding on the Levels, comment on how you think the levels should be in.

This Tournament rule is simple. No attacking moves. A few ground rules to prevent issues:

• The moves magic coat and taunt are banned.
• (Optional) Prankster is banned.
• the abilities Magic guard and Magic Bounce are banned
• Sand and hail are banned (I understand they are passive, but they put huge limitations on pokemon options.

ok, heres what gonna happen. there will be 2 wheels, a type wheel and a tier wheel. you spin both wheels, and... im not gonna bother explaining. i'll just give you a example. i spin both wheels. say i land on electric and OU. i pick a electric type from OU. bing. bang. boom. simple as that. smogon tiers and rules apply. if by some chance there isnt a certain type in the tier you spun or something, you spin one of the wheels again. all pokemon are at lv. 100. to make everybody happy, these tiers will not be used: LC, NFE, BL3. if you think more tiers should not be used, tell me, because 10-to-1 you would know better than me.

if i goofed or did something wrong, please tell me, because you're most likely more experienced than me.

Devolution Cup

Similar to little cup, but this time we're only allowed to use Pokemon that have de-volutions or get evolution later on like Pichu, Sneasel and Onix.

And, we'll only be battling at level 1 with only 2 moves.

Available Pokemon are :

These are the only few I got, a total of 40 species.

Rules are :
1) No FEAR set.
2) No Eviolite as an item.
3) Each pokemon only have 2 moves.
4) Your team must at least consist of 3 baby devolution Pokemon (Pichu, Magby, Elekid, etc.).
5) Must be in level 1.

Make a tournament here where you build your opponent's team instead of them making it themselves. you may know exactly what their pokemon have inside and out, but you don't know what they're getting.

• Shedinja is banned.
• Taunt, Self Destruct, and explosion are banned.
• all pokemon must have at least one attacking move.
• All pokemon must have four moves.
• Standard smogon clauses are in effect.
• You may not show/view your opponent's team/your team until the beginning of the battle.

you can build your opponent's team to be incredibly crappy under the assumption that they will do the same to you.

Breaking Point is correct; although when the tourney actually went up, there was a few extra rules (e.g. each Pokemon must have a move with at least 70 power, if I remember correctly).
Same general idea though.
