Pokémon Rate My Team

Hey, guys, it's me, JCM, with another nice RMT. As some of you know, I've started to try some other tiers than NU lately, which by no means means that I don't like NU anymore. Well, I had the help of Blobyolo a bit as I have no experience in Ubers. The rest, I did it myself. Making a Sun team was something I wanted to try in Ubers, as Kyogre is way too popular (I see him once every two games), so I wanted to get original, even though Sun teams isn't the most original thing on the planet. This team contains two cores, ReshYurem-W and ArDon. The first core puts immense pressure on the opponent and destroy their walls, as Reshiram uses Tailwind so the core (and the whole team) goes faster while the second one proceeds to clean up and finish the weakened Pokémon. I put Palkia as my Water-type resist and my Rain-abuser, just in case I lose the weather war, and Ferrothorn as a Wall, who can also hit extremely hard with his dual STAB moves. So here is the team!

Groudon

Groudon @ Lum Berry
Trait: Drought
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Rock Polish
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge

Double Dance Groudon is insanely powerful. After a Swords Dance boost, he can OHKO the whole tier with the appropriate moves. Rock Polish is used against fast and frail teams while Swords Dance is used against slow and bulky teams. STAB Earthquake hits really hard, even without a boost. Stone Edge completes the EdgeQuake combination, hitting the majority of the tier for at least neutral damage. EVs ensure maximum sweeping capabilities while Lum Berry makes those Walls, such as Giratina, waste a precious turn trying to burn me. Adamant Nature for maximum power.

Kyurem-W

Kyurem-W @ Life Orb
Trait: Turboblaze
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Draco Meteor
- Fusion Flare
- Ice Beam
- Roost

Kyurem-W starts my first core, ReshYurem-W, which puts a lot of pressure on the opponent. Draco Meteor is extremely hard-hitting STAB, coming from a base 170 SAtk. Fusion Flare is additional coverage, and it hits Ferrothorn hard when he tries to switch-in on Draco Meteor. Ice Beam is Kyurem-W's secondary STAB, and it hits a lot of stuff in Ubers, a metagame filled with Dragons. Roost is very reliable recovery, and it increased his longevity by a lot. EVs provide maximum sweeping Abilities as well, adding up to that base 170 SAtk and to usable 95 Speed. Life Orb over any Choice-items because Roost is there, but I've been thinking of using Expert Belt instead. Modest Nature over any Speed boost Nature because Reshiram has Tailwind, which allows me to outspeed just about everything. Why miss out on additional SAtk?

Reshiram

Reshiram @ Leftovers
Trait: Turboblaze
EVs: 16 HP / 252 SAtk / 240 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Blue Flare
- Dragon Pulse
- Tailwind
- Substitute

Arceus

Arceus @ Silk Scarf
Trait: Multitype
EVs: 252 Atk / 88 HP / 168 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- ExtremeSpeed
- Shadow Claw
- Earthquake

Palkia

Palkia @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Spacial Rend
- Aura Sphere
- Flamethrower
- Thunder

Ferrothorn

Ferrothorn (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 52 Atk / 204 SDef
Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd)
- Spikes
- Stealth Rock
- Power Whip
- Gyro Ball

Will edit descriptions later.

I meant to write Sassy, for some reason, I wrote Hardy.
I also have three dragons to counter Kyurem-W, and all of my Pokemon hits Darkrai hard.
But Palika and Scarf Kyurem-W wrecks havoc on you
Det Spacial Rend.
Tbh the fighting weakness is neutral and isn't a problem really.
Why would a Darkrai use inaccurate focus blast over dark pulse on reshiram?
Kyurem-b is no problem really when it lacks 5 base speed.
Palkia isn't common and most people tend to use specs or modest scarf so timid scarf would be great.
If that fails Arceus can take 2 special rends from Palkia, and set up.
Tbh Though reshiram isn't doing much, why not use a Pokemon that outspeeds scarfers as well as gives good coverage.
This being shaymin.
You may even want to replace Kyurem-w instead but either way that can take non stab fight hits as well as take out both groudon and Kyogre and benefit from sun with growth.

Groudon
Perfect, the set really helps balance the teams offence, making some very much needed neutral coverage.

Kyurem
With rocks, Life orb and not brilliant typing he isnt an ideal roost abuser IMO.
The new Kyurem forms are great at doing as much damage as possible, not by sitting around using roost.
Dragon Pulse may be good here to hit Pokemon like Palkia on the switch in without the drop.

Reshiram
I'm not sure whether you have noticed or not but you actually have a rather speedy team thanks to boosts so I suggest a replacement.

Shaymin would fit this role very well and can abuse Growth and sun though currently your team is reliying allot on boosts.
So you may also want to use the standard life orb set.
Alternatively you could just use Mewtwo who gives nice coverage for the team as well as walls some types that are hitting the whole team neutral.

MewTwo @Life Orb/Choice Specs
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Speed
Timid Nature
-Aura Sphere
-Flamethrower
-Psystrike
-Thunder/Thunderbolt/Ice Beam

Your team is missing a reliable Darkrai counter.
I know for certain a specs Aura Sphere is an OHKO but I'm not sure about life orb, probably after rocks.
The cutting down on the Fire type helps us wall stealth rocks.

Arceus
Works for me but seen as your running a set off smogon make sure you invest 8 extra evs into speed, to out speed opposing Arceus :D
Also seen as your team is kind of being walled a bit by Giritina I would opt for Shadow Force.
So what if they can predict it, they cant do anything after the switch and it puts them under preassure as they then have whatever else Arceus can throw at them along with hazard damage.
You dont want to be burened by Giritina making a +2 Shadow claw a 2-3 hit ko to not even worth trying to ko.

Palkia
Perfect.

Ferrothorn
Finally I'm almost done, anyway I'm not keen on the 2 physical moves especially if hes not your lead.
Some move like Leech seed for an instance may be better suited at draining the foe.

Overall good team, the synergy is actually OK despite what people said, I mean there is a 3 dragon type 2x weakness in the team, but what can you expect its Ubers.
If you have the coverage and speed to counter you should be OK.

So I am guessing I should replace Gyro Ball for Leech Seed? And thanks for the answer.

Ubers! :D

First off, your team has a lot of problems, mainly that your whole team is quite slow. Palkia can still get outsped by other Scarfers, and I can see your team getting swept by something like a Scarfed Kyurem-B with Outrage, or a DD Salamence with Moxie. You focus too much on boosted sweeping, and don't have any reliable special attackers that won't get hit hard. Both Kyurem-W and Reshiram are frail, and can get pulverized. Arceus is the only one who I see surviving, but he's the XtremeKiller.

Groudon

I would go for a more defensive set, to give you the time to set up SR, speaking of, which almost half of your team is weak to. Later on you're gonna need to replace some Pokemon to tone down the SR Weakness. But I suggest this set...

Groudon @ Leftovers
Nature: Impish
Trait: Drought
EVs: 252 Hp/4 Atk/252 Def
Moves:
- Stealth Rock
- Dragon Tail
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge

Works better. You already have Arceus for a Dancer anyhow.

Kyruem-W

Use Expert Belt over LO, it will be more reliable.

Reshiram

Sorry, has gotta go. Just is way too repetitive after Kyurem-W, and will get swept just as easily as its big brother. Don't worry, I'll keep the Tailwind support.

Ho-Oh @ Life Orb
Nature: Adamant/Jolly
Trait: Regenerator
EVs: 252 Atk, 252 Spd, 4 Def
Moves:
- Tailwind
- Sacred Fire
- Brave Bird
- Roost/Recover

I always thought this guy was underestimated. Huge SDef in a tier where half is special... plus such powerful stats and a 50% burn chance in Sacred Fire, plus Regenerator... WOW. Anyhow, this set is self-explanatory. However, the toss-up between Roost and Recover lies in the Ground weakness without the Flying type. However, I would go with Roost anyway.

:

Arceus

Use Lum Berry, and Recover over Brick Break.

Palkia

Nice, no suggestions apart from trying a Timid nature to outspeed other Scarfers.

:

Ferrothorn

I love him. I really do. But if I were you, I think your team needs a spinner. That's...

Use the usual set, Impish nature, Lefties, Sturdy, T-Spikes, Spikes, Volt Switch, Rapid Spin. I'm too lazy to write it out. But don't get mad 'cause of the 4x weakness, Kyogre appears frequently AND that woulda happened with Ferro too.

Anyhow, hope I helped! :D

Good suggestions, though I don't agree with some. Double Dance Groudon has to stay, as it is the best member of my team. I would have kept Ferro, but with you adding Ho-Oh, I desperately need a Spinner so he has to go. Your answer is good, though I'm open to other suggestions.
I still upvoted, though :P
DB sprites, Mew?
