Meta Battle Subway PokeBase - Pokemon Q&A

What is a good moveset for all the Deoxys forms?

3 votes

I myself only have one Deoxys, so I only have one moveset that I actually use.

Deoxys (Base Form): This is the one I have. EV trained in Sp. Attack and Speed. I've tried to add a bit for the Uber enviroment battling.
Psychic
Ice Beam
Shadow Ball
Focus Blast

Instead of nitpicking, post the suggestions you have in mind, and make sure they make sense. My set makes sure it covers the Uber Metagame's popular types that are usually left uncovered.

Like I said, if you feel I left out something, actually post it, instead of just criticizing.
for attack form maybe ice punch or extreme speed  instead of return for coverage/priority
i'm not really into deoxys but i'd think it is a bit useless to put extremespeed on the fastest poke around (speed forme), maybe psychic instead? and he will probably be 1 or 2hko'd so i dunno about recover but whatever i'm no expert
u should do a moveset for all forms

Try having Toxic or Will-o-wisp
maybe swap night shade with protect on deoxys-d?

Deoxys-D

Night Shade/Seismic toss-They both do the same amount of damage. It depends on what type coverage you want. Seismic toss has a bit higher PP, 32 to 24 max.

Recover/spikes/toxic spikes/stealth rock-Restores health, or if you're feeling really lucky, you could set up two hazards. The recovery is more important to me.

Spikes/toxic spikes/stealth rock-whichever you deem necessary.

Taunt-Forces opponent into attacking or switching. Either way it keeps them from interrupting you.

My Deoxys-D Moveset:

Deoxys Defense@ Leftovers

Trait: Pressure

EVs: 252 HP, 184 Defense, 72 Sp. Defense

Careful Nature:(-Sp. Attack +Sp. Defense)

  • Rest
  • Sleep Talk
  • Psycho Shift
  • Night Shade

This is my Deoxys Set, which can only be utilized with Deoxys Defense only. Rest+Sleep Talk+Psycho Shift makes a deadly combination if used correctly, putting the foe to sleep. If you happen to get Taunted, Night Shade is there to help with that, causing 100 Damage each time. EVs give it 302, 411, 402 Bulk which is very nice to have. Bulky as can be :)

Maybe Psycho Boost.
not very sure.....as it has a nature that lowers s.attack and with psycho boost it will just kill its special attacking ability and wont even be able to help psycho boost...

Deoxys Attack: @Life Orb

EV's: 252 Spe, 128 Atk, 128 SpA
Trait: Pressure
Nature: Naive (+Spe -SpD)
- Psychic
- Shadow Ball
- Superpower
- Extreme Speed

This set seriously kicks butt, with extreme speed for quick finishing, and superpower to demolish the opponent...but then you are at risk...

This set usually gets 1 or 2 KOes before it falls to priority or super bulky opponent.
Pretty good
Yeah. Good. 8/10

that seems like the perfect moveset i would suggest attack form becuase no one can out run deoxys( other than ninjask) anyway my only suggestion is that if you want to teach it his super move

Deoxys-S @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 200 HP / 20 Atk / 100 Def / 100 SDef / 88 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Psycho Shift
- Facade
- Pursuit
- Stealth Rock

S-rocks first turn, then psycho shift Poison to the opponent. If they switch, double pursuit damage. If they don't, double facade damage. A lot of prediction, though.

Wasted EVs, why improve Bulk when it has terrible Bulk?

Don't go crazy with EVs, because it's not doing you any good :P
This isn't Deoxys-Attack's practically nonexcistent defenses we're talking about here.
When invested in HP, 50 / 90 / 90 are actually not bad.
Umm... that's suitable for Deoxys D... :(
Me again. 3/10

Well, because deoxys got new event moves, why don't I use them in a set:
Deoxys speed@ focus sash
enter image description here
EV's: 252speed/ 252 sp att/ 4 hp
Nature: +speed -att
nasty plot
psychic/ ice beam
dark pulse
focus blast
This is his setup sweeper set. He will only be outsped (sometimes) by other deoxys.
Psychic is for STAB. Ice beam is for all of the dragon and flying types in Ubers.

Here is a set I use in Uber and I am really, REALLY liking it. It's a team support Deoxys-S. It can take most hits and abuse Trick, or it can Trick on a switch thus allowing it to return with some moves of it's own. It's not designed for survival. The design is to screw an opponent's Pokemon and then get hazards up before being killed. Suicide support essentially xD

Deoxys-Speed @ Iron Ball
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 HP / 4 Atk
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Taunt
- Trick
- Superpower

Iron Ball screws the Pokemon, whether it be wall with lefties, or attacker with LO/Choice item. Taunt hits those set-up pokes and the hazard setters such as Dialga and Ferrothorn. SRocks helps the rest of my team gets KOs. Superpower is just a filler and I normally switch out when taunted anyway.

What ir you encounter a ghost type?
Normally I can still trick Iron Ball to ghost types (not Arceus) and then I'll switch to someone capable of taking them down.

Wow. I thought maybe someone thought of this set already. Well here it is:

(Attack Form) Maybe Focus Sash for an item.

  • Telekinesis
  • Zap Cannon
  • Focus Blast
  • Dark Pulse

You've probably figured out by now that Telekinesis is for Zap Cannon. Paralysis is a crucial state in battling. It also gives him an edge in speed, increasing his sweeping-like abilities. Focus Blast gets an accuracy boost as well, while it covers this guys weakness to dark types. Dark Pulse is for extra coverage including ghost type threats.

Deoxys Defence Form: @Leftovers

EV's: 252 HP, 252 Spe, 4 (SpD/Def)
Nature: Jolly (+Spe -SpA)
Trait: Pressure
- Recover
- Toxic
- Calm Mind
- Ice Beam

This is one of my favourite D-D sets, it has its flaws but is a really reliable moveset.

answered Dec 9, 2012 by Flare
That's one of the best! Nice!
Also, 8/10
Why not timid? +spe -atk since it has no physical moves :D
y not replace calm mind with cosmic power and ice beam with protect? invest all ev's in bulk

Deoxys-Speed @ Focus Sash

Trait: Pressure

EVs: 252 Spd / 252 HP / 4 Atk

Jolly Nature

  • ExtremeSpeed
  • Torment
  • Taunt
  • Thunder Wave

This is a pretty darn mean guy. No XK or sweeping for you.

Deoxys (S-Forme)
Ability: Pressure
Nature: Timid
EV's: 252 Speed, 128 HP, 128 Sp. Atk
Item: @ Focus Sash
Spikes- Damage upon switching in. Can stack damage if you feel you need to.
Stealth Rock- Damage upon switching in. Deals great damage to Pokemon weak against rock (up to 50% max health if weak 4x)
Psycho Boost- Strong attack, assuming you haven't already been KO'd
Substitute- If you're ignored or not knocked down to using the Focus Sash after turn one, can be used to stack Spikes.

Played with a friend using a set-up like this one and is great for support. Only problem is Stealth Rock can only be learned in B2/W2 (I believe, maybe B/W as well) via Move Tutor. You could always switch it out for Psychic for a damaging attack that doesn't down stats or give it a something that inflicts a status condition.

Deoxys-Speed @ Choice Scarf
Deoxys
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 104 Def / 56 SDef / 96 Spd
Serious Nature
- Stealth Rock/Role Play
- Taunt
- Psyshock/Psycho Shift
- Trick

A trolling set for the current OU metagame that has worked for me so far and it's the most unexpected thing out of a Dexoys you could see. Full EVs aren't invested into Speed since almost nothing is going to outspeed 420 Speed with a Choice Scarf, with that, you can put your preferred range of bulkiness in. Trick makes wonderful trollage with a Choice Scarf, especially on stuff trying to use status moves which you can then punish with a Taunt. Stealth Rock is for the hazard lovers while you can give others a taste of their own medicine with Role Play. Psyshock is a decent attacking move to have in case of Taunts and Psycho Shift is just more trolling.
