Mine knows:

Earthquake: High power, double damage against Pokemon using Dig, high accuracy, used to deal with Rock and Electric types.

Strength: Good damage, high accuracy.

Dragon Dance: Boosts both Attack and Speed.

Waterfall: Good damage, high accuracy, decent chance to cause flinching, used to deal with Rock types, STAB.

Gyarados Learnset

If a Pokemon were to use dig,it wouldn't damage Gyarados because they are water and flying types which makes them immune to ground.
But yes,it does cover for rock and electric weakness.

I would say Earthquake/Strength/Dragon Dance/Waterfall is a good set. Outrage is also a great option for destroying things.

Gyarados (M) @ Leftovers

Trait: Moxie

EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd

Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)

• Waterfall
• Dragon Dance
• Earthquake
• Ice Fang

Set up a Dragon dance, then sweep the foe. You'll become more and more powerful thanks to Moxie. This guy has gotten me more 6-0 wins than any other Pokemon, even Charizard. Once he's got started, he's hard to stop. Waterfall provides STAB. Earthquake and Ice Fang are type coverage. Sweeper EVs, and Leftovers prevent residual damage from bringing you down. As it says, you've probably been swept by this before.

Ok, Here We Go:
Earthquake(!), Rain Dance(I Found This Helpful, Because it raises the power of water attacks alot), OR Dragon Dance(To Raise Stats), Waterfall/Aqua Tail(STAB, Powered Up By Dragon Dance/Rain Dance), and Stone Edge/Avalanche/Ice Fang(For Some Coverage).

Here is my Bulky, Lead Gyara:

Gyarados (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 152 HP / 176 Atk / 36 Def / 144 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Waterfall
- Taunt
- Dragon Dance

Sets up with D-Dance, Taunts other leads trying to stealth rock, etc. Taunt can sometimes force a switch, allowing for a free Dance. EQ and Waterfall are decent coverage, EQ has a five type coverage and hits both of Gyara's weaknesses (Rock, Electric) for SE damage, while Waterfall is Physical Stab and has a semi-useless flinch chance.
EVs are a neat distribution, the HP and defensive EVs are an add to bulkyness and work with Intimidate, Atk and Speed allow for an easy sweep of an unprepared team. This set can easily sweep an entire team 6-0 if allowed to set up, and it isn't easily KO'd, usually absorbing 2-3 successive attacks, this is hard to do against something with as much offensive ability as Gyarados.

Okay, I needed to inform you guys of a Gyarados Moveset I battled today, and is one of the most annoying Gyarados I faced. Because of this, The battle with the behemoth lasted longer than usual. So, here it is:

EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SDef
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Thunder Wave
- Dragon Tail

Thunder Wave is the crux of the Moveset, allowing it to outspeed so it can utilize ResTalk efficiently. Why use this over Dragonite you ask? Intimidate is the answer. With that, it makes Gyarados real Bulky, more than Dragonite in the long run. ResTalk allows to be rid of Toxic on Gyarados, and allows for +0 priority swift Dragon Tail to shuffle and annoy the opponent. Use this set to your advantage.

Waterfall: STAB.

Ice Fang: Actually it is a useful move on Gyarados.

Earthquake: Great type coverage.

Stone Edge: Rock and Ground provides excellent type coverage.

Gyarados should hold Choice Band and tear through all opposition. Dragon Dance is a great move without Choice Band. In fact, it is the only move that should replace these other moves. Gyarados does have another option though. Gyarados is an effective user of Taunt.

And Moxie boosts are very helpfull, along with an Adamant nature for the hardest freaking hits you can give away.

Dragon Dance to set up with, and then Waterfall for STAB, Earthquake for Coverage, Stone Edge for Other Gyarados's and other coverage.

Taunt: Stops opposing Pokemon from setting up on your, can force switches.
Thunder Wave: Paralyses opposing Pokemon, halves speed, can force switches.
Dragon Tail: Switches out Pokemon, works well with your own entry hazards.
Waterfall: STAB move, can flinch, still it hits despite no attack EVs or attacking boosting nature.

Stone Edge is powerful in general. Outrage is devastating to the opponent, even without the Band. Now you see why no Moxie+Outrage is mean to me!

Moxie really boosts your Attack if you can take down multiple foes at once with Earthquake. Stone Edge is coverage. Waterfall is STAB. Bounce is a good move in Triple battles. It gets STAB, it hits any foe, it has a nice chance of paralysis, it evades teammates multiple hitting attacks, and the foe does not know who you are going to attack. It also doesn't seem like the kind of move used with a Choice item, so that can cause your foe some grief.

My oppinion
Ice fang - realitivley weak, but great physical attack with good coverage.

Waterfall - I think we all know this is a perfect STAB move for gyarados.

Earthquake - Well also pretty obvious hehe.

Outrage - This slot could be a few things, but with me I think Gyarados has such good attack, you cant go wrong with it.............but dragon dance would work for this slot too.

Who said he thought it was weak to grass? They're still tough to deal with on a Gyarados, only Flying attack being Bounce. At least for me. I can't usually OHKO Grass types with Gyarados.

Well, it can learn Flamthrower via TM. And it's just a suggestion. Although Gyarados isn't weak to Grass, it can OHKO your Gyarados if you aren't ready.

The Reason I chose Intimidate over Earthquake Spiral is because the attack drop can actually really come in handy in competitive.

Works well as a lead to catch your opponent off guard.
