Previous Pokémon type charts

Throughout the Pokémon series the type chart - the efficacy of a move type on a Pokémon's type - has received some changes. In the second generation two types were added - Dark and Steel - and chnges were made to Ghost, Bug, Poison and Ice. In the sixth generation the Fairy type was added and two Steel resistances were removed.

Below are the two previous type charts, as used in Generation 1 (Red/Blue/Yellow) and Generations 2-5 (Gold/Silver through Black 2/White 2). The current (new) type chart is on the main Type Chart page.
