Special Pokémon and items are often available through events. Some can be obtained from real-life events such as movie premieres, toy or game shops. Since Diamond and Pearl, many events are conducted over Nintendo Wi-Fi where you can simply download a Pokémon.

Black & White brought with it the Pokémon Global Link and Dream World, and a chance to download Pokémon with special hidden abilities. There are also extra customizations such as stylized Pokédex and C-Gear skins. We list them all below, with any passwords where required.
