In Pokémon Legends: Z-A the player is given various tasks to complete as part of the story. There are two types of missions - Main Missions are larger quests that advance the game's story, while Side Missions are smaller tasks that involve catching Pokémon or helping out Lumiose City residents.

The Main Missions are unlocked sequentially as the story progresses. Side Missions typically appear a few at a time as you complete earlier missions, and are signified by a blue exlamation mark icon. Both types are made up of smaller goals that help guide you where to go next.

This page lists all the Main & Side Missions available in Legends: Z-A with descriptions, detailed steps and unlock criteria where appropriate.

1. Get Your Travel Bag Back! After a long journey, you’ve arrived in Lumiose City! But a Pokémon named Pancham has run off with your bag... Chase after it to reclaim your belongings!	Chase after Pancham, the Pokémon that ran off with your travel bag. Choose a Pokémon to help you out! Order your Pokémon to use its moves on Pancham so you can defeat it!
2. Escape from the Battle Zone! The city changes a lot when the sun goes down. Find your way out of this “battle zone” and retreat to the safety of Hotel Z with the help of your new friend Urbain/Taunie.	Head to the safe spot that Urbain/Taunie said she knows of. Go into Hotel Z. Get checked in to Hotel Z at the front counter. Take the elevator up and find room 202. Lie down on your bed and get a good night’s sleep at last. Answer the door to see what Urbain/Taunie wants.
3. A New Life in Lumiose City It’s been one unexpected development after another, but your new life in Lumiose is off to an exciting start. Have your new friend Urbain/Taunie show you the ropes.	Meet up with your new friend in the lobby. Have a Pokémon battle with Urbain/Taunie in front of the hotel. Visit the Pokémon Center in front of the Gare de Lumiose. Learn all about Pokémon Centers. Visit a wild zone to catch Pokémon. Throw a Poké Ball to catch Fletchling! Use your Pokémon’s moves to reduce Bunnelby’s HP, then throw a Poké Ball at it to try to catch it. Register at least five species of Pokémon in your Pokédex, then head to the Pokémon Research Lab for your reward. Go report your Pokédex-filling success at the Pokémon Research Lab. Open the main menu to check out your research requests from Mable. Return to Hotel Z to meet up with Urbain/Taunie.
4. Battling in the Z-A Royale To take part in a promotion match, you must first take on other Trainers in the battle zone and earn yourself a ticket. Clear this initial hurdle, then reach Rank Y!	Learn about the Z-A Royale from Urbain/Taunie. Earn Ticket Points by battling Trainers in the battle zone. Meet up with Urbain/Taunie at the nearby Pokémon Center. Find Zach at the taxi lot for your promotion match.
5. The City in the Shadow of Prism Tower Urbain/Taunie is here to show you more facets of Lumiose City. What kinds of experiences await you in this lively metropolis?	Head down to the lobby on 1F. Head outside. Learn the “secret shortcut” from Urbain/Taunie. Smash the Mega Crystals using one of your Pokémon’s moves. Take the secret route over the rooftops with Urbain/Taunie. Take a leap of faith down to Urbain/Taunie. Meet up with Urbain/Taunie at the Nouveau Café truck near Centrico Plaza. Head to Emma’s detective agency with Urbain/Taunie. Complete three side missions, using the icons on your map as your guide. Report to Emma that you completed all three side missions. Learn about Mega Evolution from Emma.
6. Reaching Rank X Your opponent for your next promotion match has been decided: an office worker named Yvon. Earn points and get yourself a ticket so you can aim for Rank X!	Get a Challenger’s Ticket, then find Yvon for your promotion match.
7. Reaching Rank W Your next goal will be to reach Rank W. For now, you’ll have to wait to find out who you’ll be pitted against in your next promotion match. Your opponent for your next promotion match has been decided: a grade-schooler named Xavi. Earn points and get yourself a ticket so you can aim for Rank W!	Battle Naveen in front of Hotel Z. Get a Challenger’s Ticket, then find Xavi for your promotion match.
8. Reaching Rank V Your next goal will be to reach Rank V. For now, you’ll have to wait to find out who you’ll be pitted against in your next promotion match. Your opponent for your next promotion match has been decided: a waiter named Rintaro. Earn points and get yourself a ticket so you can aim for Rank V!	Find Lida to give her the things she left behind at the hotel. Battle Lida in the empty lot where she practices among the back streets. Get a Challenger’s Ticket, then find Rintaro for your promotion match.
9. Chase That Mysterious Pokémon! A mysterious Pokémon appeared before you, and it seems to want you to follow it...	Chase after Zygarde! Don’t lose sight of it!
10. The Secrets of Mega Evolution Mega Rings, Mega Stones, and bonds with your Pokémon... It seems there is much for you to learn before you’ll truly understand Mega Evolution. Vinnie has tasked you with handling three cases of Rogue Mega Evolution. You must take care of all three to keep Lumiose safe!	Talk to Urbain/Taunie, then set out for the offices of Quasartico Inc. Give Absol a Mega Stone to hold, then battle Urbain/Taunie! Go to Quasartico Inc. to meet Vinnie. Go to the battle court to see what Vinnie has to say. Get a Challenger’s Ticket, then return to Vinnie for your promotion match. Head into the Quasartico Inc. office building to learn the whole story from Vinnie. Leave the Quasartico Inc. building for now. Stop by Nouveau Café for refreshments. Return to Hotel Z for a strategy meeting. Take care of all three cases of Rogue Mega Evolution. Return to Hotel Z.
11. A Rogue Mega Slowbro A high concentration of Mega Power has been detected around a Slowbro in the Bleu District. Use your new Mega Ring and face this Slowbro in battle!	Head to the location of the Slowbro that’s at risk of Rogue Mega Evolution.
12. A Rogue Mega Camerupt A high concentration of Mega Power has been detected around a Camerupt in the Jaune District. Use your new Mega Ring and face this Camerupt in battle!	Head to the location of the Camerupt that’s at risk of Rogue Mega Evolution. Battle the Racine Construction worker.
13. A Rogue Mega Victreebel A high concentration of Mega Power has been detected around a Victreebel in the Magenta District. Use your new Mega Ring and face this Victreebel in battle!	Head to the location of the Victreebel that’s at risk of Rogue Mega Evolution.
14. Reaching Rank E Your opponent for your next promotion match has been decided: the wildly popular streamer Canari. You’ll have to track her down and defeat her to move up a rank!	Battle Naveen to get the information you need about Canari. Get a Challenger’s Ticket, then talk to Naveen for your next steps. Meet up with Naveen at the site of the Canari Quiz Whiz Contest. Enter the Canari Quiz Whiz Contest! The claim: Canari is crazy good at falling- block puzzle games. Head to the ✓ area if you think it’s true or the × area if false! The claim: Macarons are Canari’s favorite food. Head to the ✓ area if you think it’s true or the × area if false! The claim: Canari’s favorite type is the Electric type. Head to the ✓ area if you think it’s true or the × area if false! Continue on to round two of the Canari Quiz Whiz Contest! Buy a very special Lumiose Galette at Café Gallant. Return to the contest site to answer the quiz question. Claim victory in a Pokémon battle to secure your right to answer the quiz question. Head to Racine Construction, following the instructions you got from Canari. Investigate the small room in the garage at the Racine Construction headquarters. Face off against Canari in your promotion match.
15. A Job for Team MZ! Vinnie has alerted you to three more cases of Rogue Mega Evolution. Take care of them all to keep Lumiose City safe!	Begin another Team MZ strategy meeting. Take care of all three cases of Rogue Mega Evolution. Return to Hotel Z. Go join Urbain/Taunie on the rooftops behind Hotel Z. Use Roto-Glide to make your way across the rooftops.
16. Reaching Rank D Your opponent for your next promotion match has been decided: Ivor, the leader of the Fist of Justice. Get yourself a Challenger’s Ticket to take him on! This is no time for a promotion match— Ivor’s younger sister, Gwynn, has gone missing! You should focus on helping locate her first. Now that Gwynn has been located, it’s time to get back to work on your real goal: defeating Ivor in a promotion match!	Get a Challenger’s Ticket, then find Ivor for your promotion match. Follow Ivor to the Looker Bureau. Go to city hall to try to find Ivor’s little sister, Gwynn. Question bystanders around city hall to try to figure out where Gwynn has gone. Head to Nouveau Café in the hope of catching Gwynn there. Talk to Canari to figure out where Gwynn might have been heading. Head to the courtyard that features a Clawitzer fountain to try to find Gwynn. Fire off the Ice-type move Ice Beam at the Clawitzer fountain. Enter the sewers from the door near the Clawitzer fountain. Make your way deeper into the sewers in search of Gwynn. Examine the lock that seems to block your way through the sewers. Chase after the Pokémon Klefki, with its many keys! Catch the Klefki that seems likely to be holding the key you need. Make your way deeper into the sewers in search of Gwynn. Follow Chandelure deeper into the sewers. Investigate all the suspicious-looking spots to find a way out of this seeming dead end. Pass through the illusory wall to continue deeper into the sewers. Follow Chandelure deeper into the sewers. Battle Gwynn in the deepest part of the sewers. Face off against Ivor in your promotion match.
17. A Rogue Mega Beedrill A high concentration of Mega Power has been detected around a Beedrill in the Vert District. Face it in battle using the Mega Ring you were granted!	Head to the location of the Beedrill that’s at risk of Rogue Mega Evolution.
18. A Rogue Mega Hawlucha A high concentration of Mega Power has been detected around a Hawlucha in the Magenta District. Face it in battle using the Mega Ring you were granted!	Head to the location of the Hawlucha that’s at risk of Rogue Mega Evolution.
19. A Rogue Mega Banette A high concentration of Mega Power has been detected around a Banette in the Jaune District. Face it in battle using the Mega Ring you were granted!	Head to the location of the Banette that’s at risk of Rogue Mega Evolution.
20. A Request from the Rust Syndicate It’s come to light that Urbain/Taunie has gotten deep into debt with the Rust Syndicate. Team MZ needs to fix this disaster—the sooner, the better! Vinnie has alerted you to three more cases of Rogue Mega Evolution. Since you’re still waiting to hear from the Rust Syndicate, you might as well take care of these first! The Rust Syndicate’s requests have started to arrive, leaving you little choice but to do as they ask. And you’d better complete their tasks well if you hope to get rid of that debt!	Head to the Rust Syndicate headquarters. Battle Philippe of the Rust Syndicate. Have a calm, rational discussion at the Rust Syndicate headquarters. Return to Hotel Z to tell the others about what happened with the Rust Syndicate. Begin another Team MZ strategy meeting. Take care of all three cases of Rogue Mega Evolution. Return to Hotel Z. Take care of the “troublemakers” holed up in the shady old building. Clear all the Pokémon out of the rundown old building and report back to the requester. Tidy up “undesirable elements” that have accumulated in the city’s shadowy corners. Smash all the Mega Crystals underground, then report back to the Rust Syndicate grunt. Clear up the trouble with the “outsiders” the Rust Syndicate wants you to deal with. Battle the Trainers from the Lumiose Society of Battle Connoisseurs. Go with Corbeau to check out the commotion in front of the bank. Return to Hotel Z.
21. A Rogue Mega Mawile A high concentration of Mega Power has been detected around a Mawile in the Magenta District. Face it in battle using the Mega Ring you were granted!	Head to the location of the Mawile that’s at risk of Rogue Mega Evolution.
22. A Rogue Mega Barbaracle A high concentration of Mega Power has been detected around a Barbaracle in the Bleu District. Face it in battle using the Mega Ring you were granted!	Head to the location of the Barbaracle that’s at risk of Rogue Mega Evolution.

24. Reaching Rank C Your opponent for your next promotion match has been decided: Corbeau, the boss of the Rust Syndicate. Get a Challenger’s Ticket, then take him on to move up a rank!	Go to meet Corbeau at the Rust Syndicate headquarters. Get a Challenger’s Ticket, then return to Corbeau for your promotion match.
25. A Showdown on the Battle Court With the crisis over Urbain/Taunie’s debt settled, you and the rest of the team finally have a quiet moment. Why not take a break and enjoy a Pokémon battle on a real battle court!	Meet up with everyone at the battle court in Vert Sector 4. Battle Lida. Battle Naveen.
26. An Invitation from the SBC You’ve received an invitation from Jacinthe, the head of the Lumiose Society of Battle Connoisseurs, otherwise known as the SBC. What in the world might await you there? Vinnie has alerted you to three more cases of Rogue Mega Evolution, and keeping the city safe must come before Jacinthe’s tournament. Get these three taken care of!	Visit the ultra-exclusive Boutique Couture. Defeat the designer in battle while your Pokémon is Mega Evolved. Head to Hotel Richissime, where the party is to be held. Speak to Lebanne, who is in charge of the party reception at Hotel Richissime. Return to Hotel Z for a strategy meeting. Begin another Team MZ strategy meeting. Take care of all three cases of Rogue Mega Evolution. Return to Hotel Z.
27. A Rogue Mega Froslass A high concentration of Mega Power has been detected around a Froslass in the Bleu District. Face it in battle using the Mega Ring you were granted!	Head to the location of the Froslass that’s at risk of Rogue Mega Evolution.
28. A Rogue Mega Altaria A high concentration of Mega Power has been detected around an Altaria in the Magenta District. Face it in battle using the Mega Ring you were granted!	Head to the location of the Altaria that’s at risk of Rogue Mega Evolution.

32. A Rogue Mega Dragonite A high concentration of Mega Power has been detected around a Dragonite in the Vert District. Face it in battle using the Mega Ring you were granted!	Head to the location of the Dragonite that’s at risk of Rogue Mega Evolution.
33. A Rogue Mega Tyranitar A high concentration of Mega Power has been detected around a Tyranitar in the Jaune District. Face it in battle using the Mega Ring you were granted!	Head to the location of the Tyranitar that’s at risk of Rogue Mega Evolution.

You’ve discovered that Grisham is the man who operates Nouveau Café! But now you need to spend a bit more time learning about the secrets he’s been carrying... Get a Challenger’s Ticket, then take on Grisham of Team Flare Nouveau to move up a rank!	Consult Emma about your mysterious opponent, Grisham. Battle Emma to try to get the intel you need about Grisham. Go to the Pokémon Research Lab to ask Mable about Grisham. Order up a promotion match at the Nouveau Café truck. Go to meet Grisham at the location you were sent. Battle Griselle. Enter the abandoned café. Take the hidden passage to enter Lysandre Labs. Search Lysandre Labs to find the Elevator Key you need. Use the elevator to reach Lysandre Labs’ B3F. Go to the research lab in Lysandre Labs’ B3F. Talk to Grisham again in Lysandre Café. Hear what AZ has to say, then decide how you will move forward. Get a Challenger’s Ticket, then find Grisham for your promotion match.
36. Prism Tower’s Dark Turn A thunderous noise and heavy tremors reverberated through Lumiose City. What is happening? A strange light emanates from Prism Tower. The time to act has come, even sooner than you’d thought it might. What can you and your friends do to protect Lumiose City?	Head out to see what in the world is going on! Meet the others in front of Prism Tower. Have a final battle against Urbain/Taunie.
37. Operation Protect Lumiose Throw aside past rivalries and work together to save the city and your friends! You know your destination—now go find Zygarde where it waits for you!	Talk to Vinnie about Team MZ’s last big job. Climb down from the rooftops and see how the situation is on the ground. Head for the spot where you’re supposed to meet Ivor and Gwynn. Continue onward with Ivor. Head for the spot where you’re supposed to meet Canari and her crew. Overcome the maze of scaffolding to continue onward. Head for the spot where you’re supposed to meet Jacinthe and Lebanne. Head for the spot where you’re supposed to meet Corbeau and his crew. Continue on to meet up with Corbeau and his crew.
38. The Future of Lumiose City Things are beginning to return to normal in Lumiose after the trouble at the tower. What will you and Urbain/Taunie decide to do with the wishes you earned by reaching Rank A?	Climb the human ladder to reach the rooftops. Get across the rooftops to reach your final destination. Make your way to your final destination with Zygarde. Head down to the lobby on 1F. Hear what Urbain/Taunie has to say. Go talk to Vinnie and the others in Centrico Plaza.
39. The Infinite Z-A Royale The curtains have drawn back on the Infinite Z-A Royale! Collect Challenger’s Tickets so you can take part in reward matches for the fabulous prizes they offer!	Try your hand at the Infinite Z-A Royale. Return to Hotel Z to hear what Lida needs from you. Keep on battling in the Infinite Z-A Royale! Head to the offices of Quasartico Inc. Keep on battling in the Infinite Z-A Royale!
40. The One That Gives Work together with Mable, who was once a member of Team Flare, to protect Lumiose City from the threat of “the one that gives.”	Talk to Mable to learn more about “the one that gives.” Complete Mable’s research task about the anomalous alpha Pokémon, and find out what her analysis reveals. Search for Xerneas in Wild Zone 11. Catch Xerneas!
41. The One That Takes Work together with Grisham and Vinnie to protect Lumiose City from the threat of “the one that takes.”	Talk to Grisham to learn more about “the one that takes.” Meet up with Grisham at the offices of Quasartico Inc. Defeat every Rogue Mega-Evolved Pokémon in everybody’s favorite Rogue Mega Evolution Simulator 3000. Search for Yveltal on the roof of the Galerie de la Lune in the Rouge District. Catch Yveltal!
42. To Keep the World in Balance What is it that people and Pokémon ought to do to preserve the world’s beauty? What does Zygarde think? What do you believe?	Battle L. Battle Zygarde beneath Prism Tower.

1. A Big Ol’ Bunnelby The requester says he saw a giant Bunnelby in an alleyway outside of the wild zones. Meet the requester at the location.	Head to the alleyway where the requester claims to have seen a giant Bunnelby.
2. A Use for an Evolution Stone! A Trainer wants a Pikachu she can use a Thunder Stone on. She’s offered to trade you her Heracross in exchange.	Trade a Pikachu for the requester’s Heracross.
3. Sableye in the Cemetery The requester dropped something precious in the cemetery, which has now become a wild zone. Your job is to retrieve the item.	Head to the Dormez Bien Cemetery to search for the requester’s ring. Deliver the Cherished Ring to the requester.
4. A Break Time Battle This worker’s on his break, but he says he’ll happily get back to work and have the Holovator up and running right away if you’ll have a Pokémon battle with him.	Defeat the requester in a Pokémon battle.
5. I’d Like to See an Ekans! A young girl wants to see the Snake Pokémon Ekans up close. Catch an Ekans and show it to her.	Add an Ekans to your team and show it to the requester.
6. Long-Range Moves Have Style Distan seems to think that attacking from a distance with long-range moves is the most stylish strategy. Take him on in a Pokémon battle to see if he’s right.	Defeat the requester in a Pokémon battle.
7. A Feisty Chespin A wild Chespin has decided to pick a fight with a taxi cab. The driver can’t move the cab with Chespin in the way—see if you can help her out.	Defeat Chespin. Receive Chespin.
8. Get Well, Fennekin You came across a wild Fennekin that seems lethargic and listless. It apparently refuses to eat food, and even taking it to a Pokémon Center did nothing. What else can you do?	Speak to the herbalist at Café Classe on Vernal Avenue. Search for a Revitalizing Twig in Wild Zone 5. Feed Fennekin the Revitalizing Twig. Receive Fennekin.
9. A Challenge from Froakie A Froakie currently reigns as the fastest to complete a scaffolding course. Try to beat its time to show it how fast humans can be.	Reach the end of the scaffolding course within 30 seconds. Reach the end of the scaffolding course within 40 seconds. Follow the requester and Froakie. Reach the end of the scaffolding course within 50 seconds. Receive Froakie.
10. Skiddo’s Fragrant Leaves The requester says she wants to make perfume using Skiddo leaves. What kind of aroma will this perfume have?	Add a Skiddo to your team and show it to the requester.
11. The Kakuna Master A young girl is training hard to become the strongest Kakuna user. Let her show off her Kakuna in battle.	Defeat the requester in a Pokémon battle.
12. The Many Flowers of Flabébé A hairstylist wants to expand her hair-color palette by seeing every color of flower that a Flabébé might adopt.	Show the requester all five forms of Flabébé.
13. Stumped at the Fountain The requester is an artist working on a painting for a contest. As she was doing some sketches, however, some brambles showed up, ruining the scenery.	Destroy the brambles by the fountain using Pokémon moves.
14. Slurpuff’s Café Visit You’ve been roped into chaperoning a grumpy Slurpuff. Take it to Café Soleil and hang out there until Slurpuff is satisfied.	Take the requester’s Slurpuff to Café Soleil.
15. A Sensitive Audino The requester says she is worried about her Audino, which is behaving strangely. Maybe a Pokémon battle will calm Audino down...	Defeat the requester in a Pokémon battle.
16. The Budew Show An old gentleman has invited you to join what seems to be an event showcasing Budew. Bring a Budew with you to participate.	Add a Budew to your team and participate in the Budew show.
17. A Shiny Mareep? The requester says she saw a Shiny Mareep in Wild Zone 1! Or at least she thinks she did, but she’s not sure. Help her discover the truth.	Find the Shiny Mareep in Wild Zone 1.
18. A Pan-tastic Pot of Tea The requester says he needs Pansage, Pansear, and Panpour to create the perfect cup of tea. Find all three Pokémon and bring them to the requester.	Add a Pansage, a Pansear, and a Panpour to your team and help out the requester.
19. Poisonous, Paralyzing Strategies Paralysis will slow your Pokémon down, while poison will gradually drain their HP. Which is stronger? Find out for yourself!	Defeat each requester in a Pokémon battle.
20. A Berry Clever Plan The requester has come up with a battle plan in which he gives his Pokémon Berries to hold. He seems very confident, but do his skills measure up?	Defeat the requester in a Pokémon battle.
21. Spewpa in the Museum Find all the Spewpa hiding throughout the museum. Apparently there are 12 in total.	Find all 12 Spewpa lost in the museum. Receive Spewpa from the requester.
22. A Call from Mable Mable called and asked you to come to the Pokémon Research Lab. What is she up to now?	Head to the Pokémon Research Lab and find out what Mable wants. Choose one of the three Pokémon.
A Fan of Fairy Types The requester says Fairy-type Pokémon are her favorites. Take her on in battle using your own favorite Pokémon.	Defeat the requester in a Pokémon battle.
Vanillite’s Fragrant Snow The requester says she now wants to make perfume using snow from Vanillite. What aroma will the perfume have this time?	Add a Vanillite to your team and show it to the requester.
An Abra Playmate The requester has asked for an Abra to play tag with. He’s offered to trade you his Riolu in exchange.	Trade an Abra for the requester’s Riolu.
An Extra-Large Gogoat The requester has recently started a courier business. He says he needs an extra-large Gogoat in order to haul bigger loads. See if you can find one for him.	Give the requester a Gogoat with the XL size classification.
