Effects

Guard Split averages the user's Defense and Special Defense with those of the target. Stat boosts are not taken into account.

For example, if the user's Defense was 100, the opponent's was 200, and the opponent had used Screech on the user, then both Pokémon would end up with 150 Defense. Due to the stat drop, the Guard Split user's effective Defense would now be 75 (instead of the 50 it was originally).

Z-Move effects

When a Pokémon is holding Psychium Z and uses its Z-Power, Guard Split turns into Z-Guard Split and raises Speed one stage, in addition to its usual effect as above.
