Effects

Poison Gas causes the target to become poisoned. Poisoned Pokémon lose 18 of their maximum HP each turn.

Poison or Steel type Pokémon, those with the ability Immunity or those behind a Substitute cannot be poisoned.

Changes

  • In Generations 1-4, Poison Gas has 55% accuracy.
  • In Generation 5, Poison Gas has 80% accuracy.
  • In Generations 1-4, the move only targets a single opponent.

Z-Move effects

When a Pokémon is holding Poisonium Z and uses its Z-Power, Poison Gas turns into Z-Poison Gas and raises Defense one stage, in addition to its usual effect as above.
