Unconfirmed leak: new games Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee
Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee — 16 May, 2018
The names of the upcoming Pokémon games for Nintendo Switch have potentially been leaked. Yesterday a logo surfaced showing the name in Japanese, Pokémon Let's Go! Pikachu.
This matched up with some earlier leaks suggesting that there would be two games titled Pokémon Let's Go! Pikachu
and Pokémon Let's Go! Eevee
and they would be remakes of Pokémon Yellow, releasing this year. Additional features apparently include integration with Pokémon GO as well as using the catching mechanic from GO of swiping to throw the PokéBall.
Today this was given additional evidence as the domains pokemonletsgopikachu.com
and pokemonletsgoeevee.com
were registered by CSC Corporate Domains, the brand management company who are also the registrar of the various Pokemon domains such as pokemon.com
and pokemon-sunmoon.com
. (Update: they have also registered letsgopikachuletsgoeevee.com
)
As we've mentioned before, the registration of a domain name does not prove anything but these are very specific. This is a corporate domain registrar so it's very unlikely that someone other than Nintendo registered these domains - as opposed to pokemonletsgo.com
for example which was also registered yesterday after the leak, but to an individual via public registrar GoDaddy.
Please remember, currently this is still unconfirmed - any of these details could be incorrect, for example being a spin-off game instead of a core game. We'll bring confirmation as soon as we get it.
