New information on BDSP and Legends: Arceus

A new Pokémon Presents has aired, giving information on Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, Pokémon Legends: Arceus, plus various other Pokémon spin-offs. Here's the video:

Pokémon Legends: Arceus features several new Pokémon and forms. The game is set in the past in the Sinnoh region, but it is known as Hisui back then. The new Pokémon are:

• Basculegion - a Water/Ghost type evolution of Basculin.
• Wyrdeer - a Normal/Psychic type evolution of Stantler.
• Hisuian Growlithe, which is Fire/Rock type.
• Hisuian Braviary, which is Psychic/Flying type.

One of the main aims of the game is to observe and catch Pokémon in this ancient region. Wild Pokémon may be battled using Strong Style, which increases power but lowers action speed, and Agile Style, which decreases power but raises speed.

For the most part Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl appears to be a faithful remake of the original games, but several new features were shown:

• The Grand Underground allows you to build a Secret Base.
• From the underground you can also access Pokémon Hideaways where Pokémon can be seen on the map. The Pokémon available will change when you change statues in your secret base.
• Poké Balls can be customised with stickers, which cause different animation effects when the Pokémon enters battle.
• Trainer clothing customisation is available.
• Pokémon Super Contests feature a dance section where you need to make your Pokémon move to the rhythm of the music.
• The Union Rooms allows interacting with trainers globally in real time.
• Following Pokémon is back.
