Effects
Mat Block protects the user's team from Physical or Special category moves, but not Status moves. It only works on the first turn the user is in battle.

- In Generation 6, Mat Block has 15 PP.
Z-Move effects
When a Pokémon is holding Fightinium Z and uses its Z-Power, Mat Block turns into Z-Mat Block and raises Defense one stage, in addition to its usual effect as above.
