Effects

Sweet Scent lowers the target's Evasion by one stage.

Stats can be lowered to a minimum of -6 stages each.

Z-Move effects

When a Pokémon is holding Normalium Z and uses its Z-Power, Sweet Scent turns into Z-Sweet Scent and raises Accuracy one stage, in addition to its usual effect as above.

Outside of battle

While standing in any area where a Pokémon could appear (e.g. tall grass, in a cave, surfing on water), Sweet Scent will make a wild Pokémon automatically appear. In Generation 6, Sweet Scent will often initiate a Horde Encounter with 5 wild Pokémon.

In Generations 4-5 and Pokémon X/Y, Sweet Scent can only be used when there is no weather condition (e.g. rain) present.
