So I don't necessarily have a favorite Pokémon, but I do have a favorite type-> Fire. In fact, all but 2 generations I pick the Fire starter religiously. I don't pick Fire in Gen 1 because Charmander is so bad compared to Bulbasaur, it's not even funny. All the other Gens where Fire has a disadvantage is at least playable but with Gen 1, having Charmander or any fire Pokémon on your team at all is just a straight handicap, where as Bulbasaur and his evolutions dominates. I also don't pick Fire in Gen 6 because Froakie is amazing, and my absolute favorite Water Pokémon of all time is Greninja. Plus you get 2 starters in Gen 6, and I do pick Charmander because Mega Charizard is awesome. So technically Gen 1 is the only Gen where I don't pick a Fire starter. But I pick the Gen 1 Fire starter in Gen 6 anyway lol.
