Pokémon GO Max Battles

First seen in Pokémon Sword & Shield, the Dynamax phenomenon increases a Pokémon's size allows the use of special Max Moves. In Pokémon GO, various Power Spots appear on the map, containing Dynamax Pokémon that can be battled by up to 4 players. Max Particles can be collected from the Power Spots, and are used to battle the Pokémon as well as powering up the Max Moves.

Max Battles come in two phases. The first is akin to raids, where your Pokémon attacks the boss using their regular moves. While doing so it charges a Dynamax Meter - once full, your Pokémon will be able to Dynamax. In this second phase three Max Moves are able to be used in sequence - a powerful attack such as Max Strike that's based on the Pokémon's fast move type; Max Guard to shield; and Max Spirit to recover HP. Gigantamax Pokémon each have a unique move that is a fixed type and even more powerful than regular Max Moves. After three Max Moves are used the battle reverts to the first phase.

The general strategy for Max Battles is to use a defensive Pokémon (known as a tank) for the first phase, and an attacking Pokémon for the second phase. This page is concerned with just the attackers - it lists the available Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokémon along with a rating that combines their Attack stat, type and available moves.
