Pokémon GO Showcase calculator

Jump to calculator

Showcases in Pokémon GO which let you compete with other players to find the biggest Pokémon. Each Pokémon earns points based on their height, weight and IV appraisal. The maximum for an individual species showcase is 1178 points, which are split between the three attributes - 800 points (80%) goes to height, 150 (15%) goes to weight, and 50 (5%) go to the IVs for a total of 1000. If the Pokémon is an XXL size, a bonus 178 points are added (which is basically a fudge by Niantic to ensure XXL Pokémon always score higher than XL Pokémon).

In January 2024, a new type of showcase was added where instead of a single Pokémon species, any Pokémon of a particular type can be entered. In these showcases, the points are calculated relative to one species. This allows huge scores in some cases. In February a third mode was added where Pokémon must be Great Buddy or higher - this contest favours the biggest Pokémon in the game, Wailord.

This calculator lets you see how many points you can earn with your Pokémon. The game does show the points when entering a showcase, but this calculator comes in useful when preparing for a showcase or deciding which Pokémon to keep in storage. For individual species showcases, select the Pokémon from the dropdown, enter the weight and height as seen on the Pokémon's detail screen, and the stats from the appraisal. For type showcases, first select the type then continue as above. We also list the top 5 biggest Pokémon of that type for reference.

Note: the height and weight values shown in-game are rounded from their true, more precise values, so it's not possible to determine the exact points you'll get. Instead we show a range of possible points. Also note that for typed showcases, we only know the exact formula for the types that have had contests; the others are estimates.
