Gender: Remember kids, don't ever give your private details to people you don't know on the Internet! Or do, I'm not your boss. Call me they/them/he/she/it/that weird kid sat on their Switch/unknown cat. If referring to me, Ax apparently stands for Axle/Axel/Axon/Axgeuartrwfevser
Country: In the happy place in my head, my own Dragon Gym with access to a holiday whenever I want (because I'm still a protagonist). Hey, it's my head, I can be whatever I want in there. See below for details.
Favorite Pokémon: Favorite overall: currently Darkrai. Watch this space. Favorite legendary: Calyrex. Favorite Mythical: Magerna. Favorite Paradox: Iron Leaves. Favorite Mega: Mega Charizard Y. Favorite new Mega: Mega Emboar. My dream Pokemon: Mega Tatsugiri with Gulp Missile (seriously, that is the best ability EVER.) and can learn Transform, Mat Block, G-Max Gravitas and Light That Burns My Eyes.
Friend Codes: [funny joke about how I don't know what friends are]

If playthrough names count, I use Barney. As in the dinosaur. Yes, I know. Please do not ask.
My alt accounts are so far mostly called (Your Name) because I have that sense of humor that finds NPCs asking "What's your name? Oh, Your Name, is it?" hilarious.

Showdown username is Ax109 again.
About me: PLEASE BATTLE ME!!!

I love competitive battling, but I am just not very good at it :(
If you want to battle me, please do tell me! I battle on Violet, LZA, (where I am slightly better) or Showdown. I also play Unite, but I am close to the friend limit there.

I have enough competitive experience that I get too excited when someone I know "knows how to battle" before getting swept by my Calyrex + Ursaluna and never playing me again.

I also like Iron Leaves in Tailwind + Electric Terrain as it one shots everything except Groudon. If you play me, expect me to use this.

I am getting into shiny hunting on ZA, and will put my most recent shinies on offer here, along with my current hunt:
8 Pyroar (2 Alpha) from when I hunted Lampent in 17
1 Skarmory
1 Machoke
1 Roserade
3 Torchic (but I'm keeping the female one)
3 Foonguss for competitive
1 Roselia as a side result of the Foonguss
2 random Pidgey
3 Chespin from a lv3 sparkling grass donut
2 Scrafty
1 Scovillian when I was getting Feebas
1 Garganacl
2 Houndoom
1 Alpha Aggron
1 Alpha Ariados
5 Fletchling
3 Frigibax,
1 Arctibax
5 Gible
1 Gabite
1 Aerodactyl
1 Amora
1 Alpha Aurorus
1 Machoke
1 Spinarak
1 Magikarp
2 Slowpoke
1 Slowking
1 Alpha Mudkip and Greninja (not for sale)

I have Switch Online, so if you like the look of some of these, feel free to give an offer for them.
I like most Dragon and Fairy shinies, and would also give good stuff for shiny Tepig/Fennekin/Charmander - they are a nightmare to get

I like sowing discord and then watching everyone else crash out. Because of this, I'm thinking of putting on that I am not a member of Team Ribbet. However, if I do, I know I will be hunted down.
If you want to get me back, I don't crash out easily, but when I do, it's usually something like:
 - Getting an autosave as a shiny runs away
 - Throwing a battle
 - I genuinely don't crash out easily so my challenge to you is to try

I am now checking my wall more often. Feel free to post stuff there!

Massive WolfeyVGC fan. Would love to meet him (and get destroyed by him) even online. (if you are Wolfe, please have pity on me)

Are you starting to guess that I am obsessed with Pokemon?

My favorite games are ORAS even though I have never played them, from what I have heard about them, they sound incredible.
 - My favorite storyline is Hoenn (I wanna live there     and beat the lava out of Groudon (or the seaweed     out of Kyogre (is that what Kyogres have inside them? (this is a lot of brackets))))
 - I LOVE the Primals' design and battleability
 - And Megas are only 2nd to Dynamax in my top     regional gimmicks list.
However, I am probably never getting a 3DS, because I don't love ORAS enough to justify the amount of money even second hand ones cost.
(For some completely useless information, Hoenn took 3 tries to get past my phone's spellchecker)

I love music, so I really like listening to Pokemon battle tunes. As of Jan 2026, my top is Team Star from Violet. Here's a list of my favorite from each game I have:
LGP: Trainer
Sword: Hop (I never battle on there though)
LA: again, don't battle on it much.
Violet: Team Star
Teal Mask: Loyal Three
Indigo Disk: BB Trainer
LZA: Corbeau
Mega Dimension: Super Ancient Pokemon

For those looking for the rules of the Gym I would own in the anime universe, it's the 8th Gym, (obvs), Double Battles, and with a loose Dragon typing - I wanted to use Don-Tatsu, and I don't really like other Water types. Additionally, it's Nat Dex, so all regional gimmicks can and will be used by me. The team is:
 - Dondozo with Tera Dragon - see, it's kinda still Dragon - knowing Order Up, Earthquake, Heavy Slam (for the faries) and Dive, because the Dig moves always hit in anime.
 - Mega Tatsugiri with Helping Hand, Muddy Water, Draco Meteor, for burst damage as this is essentially a heavy-hitting supporter, and Rain Dance - for the next in the team to come when Dondozo dies.
 - Archaludon with Stamina. Uses the rain from Tatsu to fire Electro Shots, Dragon Pulse, Body Press cannot be passed up on, and maybe Iron Defence to punish opponents' passivity.
 - Dragonite, another supporter, but more one that get all of my pokemon to a stupidly high speed to dodge everything (since this is anime), with a moveset of Tailwind, Extreme Speed, because priority moves are basically Detect in anime, Scale Shot for even more speed and Hurricane in rain.
 - Dragapult with Dragonium Z, and Dragon Darts for the Z-move, Phantom Force (see Dive note), Shadow Ball and Double-Edge. A sweeper leading to the finale:
 - G-Max Charizard, my ace. IT IS A DRAGON!
Flamethrower for G-Max Wildfire, Air Slash for STAB and Max Airstream, Solar Beam - see why next - and Sunny Day to throw opponents off guard that just got used to fighting in rain.
Will m/any Gym challengers beat me? Probably not. But that's not the point.
The Gym Challenge will be a league table with every challenger at the moment. When you join, you get put at the bottom, and you can challenge any challenger to a 1v1 singles or 2v2 doubles battle, no party Pokemon. If you beat someone higher than you, you swap places with them on the table. If you beat someone lower down, you move up 1 place, to give some other incentive to winning than not getting demoted. The person at the top of the table is the one with the right to challenge me.
If I need a break, the last 10 people to be at the top will all be invited to stand in for me, with BO1 battles between multiple people who respond.

I feel sometimes that I should take a break from Pokemon.

Wow, this is getting seriously long, isn't it?

No problem. I struggled to get higher than 1300 in any tier for a while, and predicting is one of the most important things in competitive Pokémon. One more thing I'll say is look at your opponent's elo. If they have a pretty low one, then they probably won't switch as much, and they won't predict your prediction. If they are higher ladder however, you need to read them, and figure out if they will switch or not.

Reads are important in many competitive games other than Pokémon as well, so it's important to have some ability to read an opponent in any game.

Also, it can also help to have a move that will deal ok damage to both possible targets. For example, in the example I used in my last overly long wall post, if you were unsure if they would switch, you could use HP Fire to deal significant damage to Corviknight if they stayed, and chip Lando if they switched. Protect is also helpful, as it lets you see your opponent's plan, without any danger to you.

Sorry if I keep writing wall posts that challenge the character limit. I just really like competitive Pokémon, and I think it's better to have too much information than you need, then not enough when you need it.

See you later.

Hi Ax. I've been watching your Showdown replays, and I have a tip for you. You're doing great, but you could do better if you learned how to predict better. For example, in the most recent one you put in the chat, your opponent had a Corviknight out, with a Landorus-T in the back. Your Koko used thunderbolt, and they switched to Landorus-T, making it useless. If you had predicted, by using Dazzling Gleam instead, or even HP Fire, just in case they didn't switch. You are entering the ladder (About 1400) where other players won't just sit back and let you zap their bird if they have a ground type in the back.

I know this is just one example, but I've seen it elsewhere in your games as well. Being able to predict well is one of the biggest things that separates a good competitive player from a great one.

(I just took up like 1/3 of your wall with one post didn't I?)
