It seems like it lowers the friendship of my Pokemon. I use revival herb a lot, but my main Pokemon has a lower friendship with me than my HM slaves. (And does revival herb change any stats too?)
It does change your happiness stat. It's good for Pokemon that do not need happiness to evolve, as well as Pokemon who abuse Return. Do not use it if it needs happiness to evolve or if you plan on using Return.
