When was Gary last seen in the anime?

Last time I saw him was in the DP season but I've seen screenshots on the BW series

He was last seen in Sinnoh rescuing Sheildeon from Pokemon Hunter J. Those photoes could have been from later episodes because Japan is farther along the series than us or the could be fake.
