Is there a difference between pokemon blue and pokemon green (besides the name)?

Pokémon in Pokémon Green are different, and Pokémon like Lickitung,jynx and Kadabra are catchable while you had to trade in blue/red. More items are available in Pokémon Green than in blue, such as HP Ups in PokéMarts. The sprites are different in Pokémon Green.this is the reason why we didnt get pokemon green.

Pokemon Green was released only in Japan and Pokemon Blue was an international release and not in Japan
