Does installing Pokemon Showdown on to your PC do anything?

There is an option on Pokemon Showdown to install it, but does it change anything?

Nope there is no difference between the downloadable client and the online version.

Hi, yeah, the new Windows install is official.
It's currently just the site in a wrapper, but I'll be adding more features soon.
