How did this attack bypass Substitute?

Question

Espeon used Substitute!
Espeon put in a substitute!
Espeon lost 25% of its health!
The opposing Galvantula used Bug Buzz!
A critical hit! It's super effective! Espeon lost 75% of its health!
Espeon fainted!

Can someone explain to me how this happened?

Simple.

From Generation VI onward, Substitute no longer blocks Sound based moves.

>Substitute no longer blocks sound-based moves, such as Metal Sound, or moves used by Pokémon with the Ability Infiltrator.

As you can see here(from Bulbapedia):

Bug Buzz is a sound based move.
That is how it, hit regardless of the Substitute.
