Can you use gifts to recruit Pokemon in dungeons where you can't normally recruit Pokemon?

If I use the Pawniard gift in the Jaws of the Abyss dungeon could I recruit Pawniard?

When you're a dungeon that doesn't allow befriending of Pokemon you can't you can use gifts to recruit them, but if you get warped off to Glacier Palace or Kilionea Road you can recruit a pawniard.
