All shiny-locked Pokémon in Legends Z-A are listed below:

Static Encounters:
All static encounters, such as Legendaries/Mythicals (all of which are Static in PLZA) and Your Starter/First Partner Pokemon are Shiny Locked. However, Starters found in the wild, postgame, are not Shiny Locked.

In-Game Trade Pokémon:
All in-game trades are Shiny Locked, meaning regional variations (among other things) that can only be obtained via in-game trades can’t be Shiny.

Pokémon Obtained Via Mystery Gifts:
All Pokémon obtained through Mystery Gifts, such as the Ralts obtainable from having pre-ordered the game and the to-come legendaries from quests, are Shiny Locked.

Are the gift kanto starters also shinylocked?
Hi there,

Very specific one but what about the gengars that you encounter in mission 20: ‘A request from the Rust Syndicate’ when you enter the building.

I believe they are static encounters, since they are guaranteed to be there, but when I leave and re-enter the building their gender does fluctuate, their levels don’t.

Could one of these be shiny?
I wish to know because I cannot trade online for a shiny gengar and these are the only two you are able to obtain in the game.
Just a response to Shift below,

Gengar, Machamp and Alakazam can be found as alpha spawns underneath the tower in Wild Zone 20 after clearing the game. And they can be found as shiny's there !
The first time you exchange a Fossil in Pokémon Lab B2 (A Tyrunt or Amaura) for the Sidequest, the IVs, gender, and shinyness of that Fossil Pokémon are locked, but subsequent revivals of Fossil Pokémon can be Shiny and Alpha Pokémon. :P
