Teambuilding Process

It goes as follows:
Clefable Clefable is Doppelina. She is Gänger's gentle, protagonist sister, and unlike her brother, she got a sudden rise to fame in the OU tier with ORAS. I had to know what made her so powerful so suddenly.
Gengar Gengar represents Gänger in the duet I had in mind. Gengar is one of those rare Pokémon who did preserve a spot in the OU tier throughout the years, unlike Clefable, so I had to know what made him so special.
I figured Terrakion and Gengar would do good together. Gengar would take out Fairy-type Pokémon and deal hefty amounts of damage to my opponent's Pokémon. On the other hand, Terrakion's powerful physical attacks and adequate typing provide a second safe answer to Talonflame, Mega-Charizard-X and the likes.
I wanted an unsual pivot, and a safe answer to powerful Steel-type Pokémon. I wanted something that could dent Water-type Pokémon as well, and something that could spread statuses. Rotom-Heat answered all these criterias and gave me a powerful Fire-type attack.
Terrakion and Gengar were both quite weak to Psychic-type moves. I figured I could use a fast, physically offensive Pokémon such as Weavile to threaten the likes of Latios, Mew, Starmie and more. Ice-type STAB was also more than welcome.
Finally, because the team is reliant on switching in and out, I needed a reliable defogger. One whose weaknesses are covered, one who shows high defenses. Mega-Scizor was perfect. Moreover, the popularity of his Swords Dance moveset allowed me to comfortably bluff a traditional Pokémon only to backstab my opponent as I reveal Defog. The surprise effect was too good to pass out. This is how I rounded the team.

The team does have its weaknesses but its shining points allowed me to rocket to 1400+ and counting with 12 consecutive wins. The team presents a glaring weakness to Mega-Charizard-X and enemy Keldeo, but past these two, it shines thanks to a well rounded combination of defensive and offensive Pokémon.

In Detail

Doppelina (Clefable) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 172 Def / 84 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Stealth Rock
- Moonblast
- Thunder Wave
- Soft-Boiled

Clefable plays an important role in the team. She sets Stealth Rock, which can break whole teams apart. They're especially important against Charizard. Moonblast deals high damage even when uninvested, and has a decent chance to lower Special Attack which is always welcome against the likes of Latios and Mega Sableye. Thunder Wave allows me to cripple certain Pokémon; it is so reliable and so powerful, it is difficult to give it up. Soft-Boiled finally ensures Clefable is durable withing the game, especially when she is needed vs Dragon- and Dark-types. The very specific EV spread allows Clefable to take up to three hits against key Pokémon and their most powerful attacks such as Thundurus, Mega-Lopunny, Kyurem-B or Mega-Diancie.

Gänger (Gengar) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Shadow Ball
- Sludge Wave
- Focus Blast
- Taunt

Gengar is the second key member of the team. His three different attacks can deal very heavy damage to many Pokémon. For instance, Shadow Ball has amazing neutral coverage and is Gengar's most reliable STAB attack. Sludge Wave, on the other hand, is Gengar's most powerful attack and can hit Fairy- and Grass-types for super-effective damage. Focus Blast is needed to take on the Dark- and Steel-types such as Tyranitar, Heatran or Ferrothorn, who otherwise can comfortably take his first two attacks. Taunt is the last choice, and coupled with Gengar's high speed and fantastic typing, it can beat defensive teams.

Khan (Terrakion) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- Rock Slide
- Iron Head

Terrakion is an underrated wallbreaker, and a rarely seen scarfed revenge killer. After giving him a roll in my team, I can say he fits better than Keldeo. By virtue of a fearsome dual-STAB combination and appropriate coverage, Stone Edge and Close Combat, he can force out a lot of Pokémon and take out troublesome threats such as Charizard-X, Talonflame, Clefable, Tyranitar and much more.

Disturbia (Rotom-Heat) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 40 Def / 220 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Overheat
- Volt Switch
- Toxic
- Will-O-Wisp

Crucial to the team, Rotom-Heat represents my answer to Bisharp, Breloom and Metagross among others. By means of having Dual Status, he can disturb my enemy's team very fast and with thanks to a good STAB combination, he serves the role of a rarely seen, underrated pivot. When washing machines are too boring, ovens quickly bridge the gap.

Katana (Weavile) (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Icicle Crash
- Ice Shard
- Low Kick

Weavile is ninja-fast, and ninja-powerful. Thanks to her amazing offensive stats and excellent offensive typing, she can dig holes in many teams. Knock Off is essential in any team, in my opinion, as sometimes, items make or break a Pokémon: would Chansey be the same amazing blob without Eviolite? Icicle Crash is a way to reliably hit Dragon-, Flying-, Ground- and Grass-types, while Ice Shard is needed when Weavile does not outspeed an enemy Pokémon. Low Kick, finally, can swiftly take out heavy Steel- and Rock-type Pokémon mainly.

Guillotine (Scizor) (M) @ Scizorite
Ability: Light Metal
EVs: 248 HP / 60 Def / 200 SpD
Impish Nature
- Defog
- Roost
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn

By virtue of fantastic bulk and great typing, Scizor gets many opportunities to use Defog throughout the game. With U-Turn it forms a nice VoltTurn core with Rotom-Heat, and deals high damage to Dark-, Psychic- and Grass-types which can be annoying otherwise. Bullet Punch allows Scizor to threaten Diancie mainly, but also all Fairy- and Rock-type Pokémon. Finally, Roost provides reliable recovery so Scizor can stay alive for the game's duration.

Post your suggestions and harshest criticism here! I'm ready to make changes as long as I can keep Gengar and Clefable. Should you want to try the team, I'd be more than honored; however, please keep the nicknames.
Have fun!

CHANGE LOG:
Keldeo replaced with Scarf Terrakion, Thunder Wave on Rotom-H replaced with Toxic
Reason: Terrakion has a reliable STAB that OHKOs Mega-Charizard-X, and I like underdogs. Moreoever, having three different statuses to inflict felt incredibly interesting to me, and Clefable is really reliable when it comes to using TWave.
Did you know that, according to Smogon, Gengar is one of two Pokemon that was OU in every generation. The only other one is Starmie.
Just so you know, your importable has Rotom-H with Thunder Wave, but the main post has it with Toxic. I'm not sure if you changed it or not since it's not in the change log. It's a cool-looking team, and I'll give it a rate if the changes I'm testing work well.
AnAveragePlayer, good catch. I changed it to Toxic not long ago.
My good sir! You must tell me where you got those pictures! They are adorable!
@Roserade - they're the Pokemon Shuffle icons for each Pokemon.

Hi! I don't have many suggestions because this team looks really solid overall. You've built a wonderful offensive core in Gengar, Terrakion and Weavile, and Mega Scizor, Clefable and Rotom-Heat provide the necessary support for these Pokemon in regards to hazards, status and defense. I'm also in love with the whole Doppelina and Gänger theme you've got going on. There's only one real problem here- one that you probably are already aware of- but this team has a GLARING weakness to offensive Water types.

With Keldeo running rampant in the OU Tier at the moment, it is pretty much mandatory that every team has a least one Water resistance on their team. After looking through your team and running some calcs, I have found that every Pokemon on your team is either OHKOed or 2HKOed by Choice Specs Keldeo's Hydro Pump, and only 3 out of the 6 Pokemon on your team can outspeed it- Gengar, Weavile and Terrakion, although these Pokemon cannot OHKO it and will therefore get blown back. Other variants of Keldeo, such as the Choice Scarf and Expert Belt sets, also wreak havoc on your team, outspeeding the majority of your Pokemon and hitting them hard.

Keldeo isn't the only Water type to worry, however. Choice Band Azumarill can also can 2HKO or OHKO every single one of your Pokemon, and Manaphy can do the same after a Tail Glow, although these Pokemon aren't as problematic as the former is OHKOed by Gengar while the latter lacks immediate power. Taking Life Orb Hydro Pumps from Starmie is not this team's strong suit as well.

As such, I am going to suggest replacing Rotom-Heat with Rotom-Wash. I know you wanted to be original and not use such a popular Pokemon, but this team really needs to Water resist that Rotom-Wash offers. Rotom Wash also retains the resist to Mega Charizard X's Flare Blitz, which is why I chose it over a bulky Grass type which would otherwise function better in its place.

Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split

This is the standard bulky pivot that Rotom-Wash usually runs. If you'd like to read more about it you can check Rotom-Wash's Smogon page here.

Hey! I'll be totally honest, I didn't post this rate earlier because I didn't find the changes to be too successful when I was testing them. I've decided that I'll post it anyway just for the sake of having other options to consider. Overall, as I said in the comments, it's a cool-looking team and I give you major props for making such a detailed thread since they're never really seen here. I really like the idea of Clefable + Gengar and I've considered trying to make a team out of it before.

As you mentioned, you're pretty weak to Keldeo and Mega Charizard X. I can also see Heatran being a problem since you don't have anything that wants to switch into a Lava Plume besides Rotom-Heat, which can't do anything back to it. This can be pretty problematic since Keldeo and Heatran are very common pokemon. Like Mega-Roserade, I also decided to add a water resist to deal with Heatran and Keldeo by replacing Weavile with offensive Starmie. Starmie still keeps the fast and powerful offensive pokemon on the team while adding an answer to the pokemon mentioned above. I tested with defensive Starmie and didn't like the lack of immediate power in the team, so in hindsight, the offensive set would have been a lot better for the team.

Starmie @ Life Orb
Ability: Analytic
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Hydro Pump
- Psychic
- Ice Beam

Since the team now has a hazard removal and because the team really only has Scarfed Terrakion as a win condition, I decided to change Mega Scizor's set to the Bulky SD set (plus I really don't like Defog Mega Scizor, so I'm a bit biased in that sense). I used Superpower during the tests so that I didn't have to rely on Terrakion to immediately take out +2 Bisharp, but I felt that without U-Turn on Scizor, the team was lacking a lot of momentum, and if Scizor comes in on Swords Dance, it can live any hit and U-Turn into Terrakion anyway. Furthermore, Rotom-Heat outsped and could take a +0 Sucker Punch and Starmie could use Hydro Pump on a predicted Swords Dance to avoid facing a +2 Bisharp, so the matchup was far from unwinnable versus Bisharp without Superpower on Mega Scizor.

Scizor @ Scizorite
Ability: Light Metal
EVs: 248 HP / 44 Atk / 16 Def / 200 SpD
Impish Nature
- Swords Dance
- Roost
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn

I like the idea of dual status Rotom-Heat, but I feel like paralyzing faster threats is more useful for this team than hitting bulky pokemon with Toxic mainly because Thunder Wave can cripple Mega Charizard X as it uses Dragon Dance, so because of this, I suggest replacing Toxic with Thunder Wave on Rotom-Heat.

Finally, now that there's 2 pokemon running Thunder Wave and because replacing Weavile took away Knock Off utility, I suggest replacing Thunder Wave with Knock Off on Clefable. Knock Off Clefable can provide some pretty decent utility in combination with this team. Removing Heatran's Leftovers on the switch allows for Gengar to use Shadow Ball + Focus Blast to guarantee a 2HKO on Heatran after Stealth Rock damage, removing the need to predict it. Knock Off Clefable can also lure in Chansey and remove its Eviolite, and hit Gengar on the switch to remove its Life Orb and deal some decent damage to it.

These changes may prove to be more successful for you than it was for me, so in the event that you do decide to try out these changes as well, I hope it helps you ladder higher.

Summary of Changes:
>
Bulky SD set > Defog set
Knock Off > Thunder Wave
Thunder Wave > Toxic

thank you. I tested out the changes, it was not bad. Not transcendent though: I wanted a Dark-type to take care of Latios and Latias who otherwise beat Gengar and Terrakion. That makes a new team to be honest, and by all means it's not bad.
:)
