So i've been practicing for a couple of years now to make a good team to my liking, and so far this "Thunderstorm team" that specifically uses a Thunder user and Rain Dance/Drizzle has been my most effective in the battle tower. However, I still feel like there's room for improvement and would like advice for what to do.
This team is generally made for both single and doubles, and for restricted legendaries. There is also no metagame preference as i'm planning to just use it for online casual.
Regieleki @ Focus Sash
Ability: Transistor
EVs: 252 SAtk. / 252 Atk. / 4 Spd.
Naive
- Electro Ball
- Acrobatics
- Rapid Spin
- Thunder
Pretty much the Thunder sweeper. Focus sash keeps it in the game after a strong move which allows Acrobatics to hit harder. Rapid Spin for cleaning up weakened opponents and getting rid of hazards while raising it's already high speed to further power Electro Ball.
Pelipper @ Damp Rock
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def. / 4 SDef.
Bold
- Soak
- U-Turn
- Hurricane
- Scald
Rain and Soak support. Soak gets the jump on ground types or anything resistant to electric for Regieleki to decimate and gets rid of any defensive typings. U-Turn to switch out of a bad match and come back again for rain if it is taken from the battle. Hurricane purely for damage with a chance to confuse which gains 100% accuracy in rain. Scald boosted by the rain dishes damage and gives burn support.
Indeedee (Female) @ Psychic Seed
Ability: Psychic Surge
EVs: 252 Spd. / 252 Def. / 4 SAtk.
Timid
- Expanding Force
- Energy Ball
- Attract
- Healing Wish
Sorta both a sweeper and support. Expanding Force gets good damage from it's psychic terrain which stops priority from killing a weakened Regieleki that outspeeds it. Energy Ball for those resistant to psychic and to do extra damage to soaked opponents. Attract obviously speaks for itself to annoy those with the opposite gender. Healing Wish to recover anyone who needs it when Indeedee has done it's job.
Goodra @ Custap Berry
Ability: Hydration
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def. / 4 SAtk.
Bold
- Rain Dance
- Rest
- Sludge Bomb
- Dragon Pulse
Tanky secondary rain support if things go wrong with Pelipper. Rest with Rain Dance-Hydration helps keep it alive with it's already good bulk. Sludge Bomb for pesky fairies and to possibly poison, and Dragon Pulse for pure STAB.
Quagsire @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def. / 4 SDef.
Impish
- Bulldoze
- Recover
- Toxic
- Ice Punch
Stalling Toxic support to nullify electric attacks on Pelliper and give stat boosters a hard time. Bulldoze lowers speed for sweeper teammates and helps get rid of electric types. Toxic to put opponents on a timer with Recover to keep it in-game. Ice punch for extra STAB on dragon types.
Galarian Zapdos @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk. / 252 Spd. / 4 HP
Jolly
- Thunderous Kick
- Drill Peck
- Throat Chop
- Endure
Last pure sweeper. Since G-Zapdos has plenty of weaknesses, I figured to expliot that with its high attack and speed by enduring the super-effective hit that may normally take it out and turn the tables with higher attack to hit back harder. Thunderous Kick is good for lowering defence if needed, Drill Peck for pure flying STAB, and Throat Chop for typing coverage and possibly stop anything that relies on sound moves.
All pokemon have max IVs from Hyper Training.
