Honestly, I just randomly put together a team for no reason in particular but I want to see how the community thinks so here's my random monotype dragon team for gen 8:
Garchomp @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Dragon Tail
- Toxic
- Fire Blast
The opponent won't see a defensive Garchomp coming. The strat is to place Stealth Rocks, poison the foe, and then shuffle. Fire Blast is for any Ice-types that might get dragged out.
Dragapult @ Leftovers
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Phantom Force
- Dragon Darts
- Dragon Dance
- Psychic Fangs
A nice, speedy 'mon. Nothing to really say here.
Dracovish @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Strong Jaw
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fishious Rend
- Outrage
- Psychic Fangs
- Crunch
The idea here is as simple as to spam Fishious Rend, so I have Dracovish scarfed and Jolly.
Duraludon @ Leftovers
Ability: Light Metal
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Flash Cannon
- Thunderbolt
- Dark Pulse
- Draco Meteor
Fairy-types. Ugh. Duraludon solves that.
Kommo-o @ Throat Spray
Ability: Bulletproof
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Clanging Scales
- Focus Blast
- Flamethrower
- Clangorous Soul
The strat here is to use Clangorous Soul and then Clanging Scales, which puts Throat Spray into use. Flamethrower for Ice-types, and Focus Blast for STAB.
Appletun @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Ripen
EVs: 252 HP / 128 Def / 128 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Recycle
- Leech Seed
- Safeguard
- Endure
This is a stall set. Calm is because many Fairy, Ice, Fire, and Poison foes are Special. Recycle puts Sitrus Berry and Ripen to its best use, and pairing Leech Seed with Endure is great stalling.
I'm thinking of replacing some moves on Appletun and Kommo-o mainly, but feel free to suggest anything else :)
