Ice is an interesting type to play with in Monotype. It's a wonderful offensive type, but it's quite lacking defensively. I haven't gotten very high with this team (1400s), mostly because I don't play with it too much, but when I do, it's great fun. Here's the team.

Ninetales-Alola @ Light Clay
Ability: Snow Warning
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Freeze-Dry
- Aurora Veil
- Moonblast
- Heal Bell

My lead, for obvious reasons. She sets hail with Snow Warning, allowing Aurora Veil to take effect. Freeze-Dry nails leads like Pelipper, and it's a reliable STAB move. I didn't choose Blizzard, seeing as I wouldn't be able to hit things like the aforementioned Pelipper, Barraskewda, Araquanid, Gastrodon, Toxapex, and the like super effectively with it. Moonblast is my second STAB move, and helps against the plethora of Fighting and Dark types in the format, notably Obstagoon, Weavile, Buzzwole, Conkeldurr, and Tyranitar. Heal Bell provides a bit of support, should it ever be needed.

Weavile @ Life Orb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fake Out
- Ice Shard
- Low Kick
- Knock Off

A great attacker, exemplifying the Ice type -- hit fast and hit hard. Fake Out softens up opponents and breaks Sashes. Ice Shard is priority STAB. Low Kick rips apart Tyranitar and Bisharp, and can do a number on Urshifu as well. Knock Off is excellent STAB that removes items, which can leave some Pokemon crippled. I originally had Throat Chop instead of Knock Off, but decided that Knock Off would be more useful most of the time.

Mamoswine @ Choice Band
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Icicle Crash
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard
- Superpower

This guy rips holes in any team. A Choice Band and an Adamant Nature ensure it does a decent chunk of damage to most things. Icicle Crash and Earthquake are standard, reliable STAB moves. Ice Shard allows Mamoswine to come in for a revenge kill, and pick off weakened threats. Superpower allows it to beat up Tyranitar and Bisharp, among the myriads of other Fighting, Steel, and Rock types.

Glastrier @ Leftovers
Ability: Chilling Neigh
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Substitute
- Swords Dance
- Icicle Crash
- High Horsepower

This is so enjoyable to use. Substitute allows me to dodge status, and it's easier to keep intact due to Aurora Veil. I either Swords Dance next, or if I feel the Pokemon on field is too much of a threat, go for Icicle Crash or High Horsepower. Icicle Crash is STAB, and High Horsepower helps out against annoyances like Zeraora, Magnezone, and Tapu Koko. Its incredibly high defenses give my team some much-needed walling capabilities.

Kyurem @ Choice Specs
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Freeze-Dry
- Draco Meteor
- Ice Beam
- Earth Power

My special attacker on the team. Specs Kyurem hits things stupidly hard, and it threatens a lot of Pokemon. Freeze-Dry provides extra insurance against Water types. Draco Meteor is a STAB nuke, which Kyurem can use twice decently due to Specs. Ice Beam is more powerful STAB that doesn't hit Water types too well, and Earth Power hurts a lot of things.

Cloyster @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Skill Link
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Icicle Spear
- Spikes
- Rapid Spin
- Toxic Spikes

To round out the team, a supportive Cloyster. It has crazy high Defense, at 504. This allows it to tank a lot of hits, and it's a good counter to Steel types, notably Scizor. Rocky Helmet wears the opponent down, Icicle Spear is deadly STAB with Skill Link, Rapid Spin clears the hazards my team hates, and Spikes + Toxic Spikes return the favour to the other team.

This team has been working very well for me so far. I used to have an Arctozolt on the team, but I replaced it with Cloyster so I had a way to remove hazards. Some things I'd like to be addressed:

  • Should any of the EV spreads be changed? I don't know if Ninetales-A or Mamoswine need max Speed, for example.

  • Should I put Icicle Crash on Weavile? I feel it needs a better STAB option than Ice Shard, but I wouldn't know what to replace it with, as Ice Shard is terribly useful for grabbing a KO.

  • Any general improvements to be had.

Thanks in advance.

I think maybe Icicle Crash>Fake Out.
Maybe Adamant instead of Jolly and Icicle Crash instead of Ice Shard for Weavile and Jolly Nature for Mamoswine?
Weav actually needs Jolly otherwise things like Latios gonna revenge kill it...
I like axel>crash on weav
Mamoswine with 252 speed adamant is fine.
Weaville always needs jolly for sure
I think you need more boots, cause you have none. Sure, cloyster can spin, but its not reliable, being ohkoed or taking huge damage from special moves.  Losing cloyster may mean an auto loss because you get chipped by rocks so fast.
Finally, I think weaville should have boost over Lorb. Plus, maybe its just me, but I don't feel like its worth it to take 10% of your health and do about 10% to the opponent. Sure, fake out can be fine, but I don't think you should also take 10% PLUS 25% on rocks switchin, which you'll needto do to use fake out again. The one expection to this I'd say would be to use lead weaville, but that means you cant lead ninetails. If you want lead weaville, I'd probabaly use sash than.
Thanks!
I'm not good at Monotype, but I don't think Fake Out does anything of note that Ice Shard does (you don't really need a sash-destroyer if you have both Ice Shard and Spikes, and I don't think sash is that popular in the first place), and you have no strong Ice STAB on Weavile, so Triple Axel should be used instead. You also lack a good Special Attacker outside of Kyurem, since Ninetales-A's 81 SpA isn't that good. (and yeah Cloyster needs boots if it's going to be spinning)
@Ignis thanks for the help! I've found Fake Out to be a very niche but still useful option in revenge killing some faster opponents that Ice Shard can't quite get, but I'll definitely see how Triple Axel performs. And yeah, I know one special attacker isn't very balanced, but Ice just doesn't have a lot. The best available is Lapras, but I wouldn't know who to replace.
Lapras, huh? On second thought, never mind, you don't need any more special attackers
