A few weeks ago, I made a team for National Dex, but it didn’t do so well, so I improved it a little. I want to know if it can get further improvements!

Infernape @ Life Orb
Ability: Iron Fist
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Mach Punch
- Swords Dance
- Fire Punch
- Thunder Punch

This is my main physical sweeper, if you remember, he originally had Close Combat as his Fighting STAB and Earthquake as coverage, but he ended up becoming dead fodder as he couldn’t kill ANYTHING, so I slapped Mach Punch and Swords Dance and he’s been doing well!

Garchomp @ Garchompite
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
- Crunch
- Iron Head

This is my Mega Pokemon, Garchomp. He’s usually here to take out any other Megas or when my Corviknight has gotten a tailwind, which is why he has Dragon Claw instead of Scale Shot.

Primarina @ Choice Specs
Ability: Liquid Voice
EVs: 136 HP / 228 SpA / 144 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Hyper Voice
- Moonblast
- Psychic

This is my semi-bulky Specs user. Originally, the set did well, but it had coverage problems so I replaced Ice Beam for Psychic.

Volcarona @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 48 HP / 224 SpA / 40 SpD / 196 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Flamethrower
- Bug Buzz
- Giga Drain
- Quiver Dance

This set has gotten the least amount of change out of all of them, but the most impacting change as well. I replaced the Z-crystal with Heavy Duty Boots, and took Flamethrower instead of Fire Blast, which has done wonders.

Serperior @ Grassium Z
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 100 HP / 248 SpA / 160 Spe
Mild Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Leaf Storm
- Light Screen
- Reflect
- Defog

And meet my big support, Serperior. He’s here for screens and occasionally for a sweep or kill, Defog is to get rid of hazards and the Z-crystal is where the kill part comes in.

Corviknight @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Unnerve
EVs: 92 HP / 96 Atk / 100 Def / 100 SpD / 120 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Iron Head
- Brave Bird
- U-turn
- Tailwind

The bulky support is the same as the old team, he’s here mostly for a Tailwind and then dip with U-Turn, but sometimes comes in to take down a Pokemon that the team is struggling with, he’s mostly here for Garchomp and Primarina so they came outspeed and take down some threats.

So what do you think?

Can you explain your EVs? What benchmarks do they hit? Also Pressure is better than Unnerve on Corviknight, and you should drop Iron Head for Roost.
Corviknight isn't a fast supporter, it is a slow supporting pivot. Why Mild on Serperior? Modest or Timid would be better. Also, when I look at the Serperior set, why Grassium Z when you could run Light Clay? You could replace HDB on Volcarona with Firium Z with Fire Blast.
Why Infernape over Blaziken? Dragon Claw, Iron Head, and Crunch are bad on Mega Garchomp. Why Primarina over Clefable, Tapu Lele, or Ash-Greninja? What do Volcarona's EVs do? Why Defog and screens serperior when substitute, hidden power fire, and glare are so much better? Roost and Defog are better than Tailwind and Iron Head on Corviknight. What do Corviknight's EVs and Jolly do? Leftovers is much better than Boots on corv.
@PKThunder10 i did that last time, but volcarona would usually only got the z-move out and died shortly after
@Ignis Aqua Herba i chose infernape because of his iron fist ability, which would further boost Mach punch. Tailwind is so that mega garchomp can outspeed threats
As for the rest of the suggestions I’ll edit my team around those
As for serperior’s nature… I honestly was just being stupid.
I would also like to ask, what do you want me to change about garchomp?
Mach Punch's power boost (which is very small) is insignificant compared to blaziken, when after a single Speed Boost, Blaziken will outspeed more than 80% of the unboosted metagame. Crunch does not cover anything at all and should be replaced by Stone Edge for coverage against most Flying types. Tailwind Corviknight is way too reliable and Corviknight already has 4 moveslot syndrome. You should drop Tailwind for Defog, Iron Head for Roost, and use Scale Shot over Dragon Claw on Garchomp. Glare Serperior is better than Corviknight if you want speed control for your Mega Garchomp since paralysis lasts forever until it is removed by Heal bell, aromatherapy, or natural cure.
Ok then, thanks!
Quick, questions what set do you recommend for a blaziken with this team?
Blaziken @ Electrium Z
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Close Combat
- Swords Dance
- Thunder Punch

I think this works best, but you can use a Normalium Z set if you want to (just replace thunder punch with double edge and electrium z with nornalium z, obviously). However Normalium Z will hardly be necessary with Ash-Greninja being such a great partner, beating Electrium Z's checks like Mega Latias and buly Ground types which are the only reason for it running Normalium Z in the first place. Since you're going to use Electrium Z Blaziken, Serperior's Grassium Z should be replaced for Leftovers. I forgot to mention that Volcarona doesn't help this team much, so its best to replace it with Clefable, which helps your team with utility like Knock Off and Stealth Rock, and is a great partner for Ash-Greninja (which is what should be used over Primarina) since it removes the recovery of checks like Toxapex, Amoonguss, and Ferrothorn, removes Tangrowth's Assault Vest, and beats Kommo-o.

Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 160 Def / 96 SpD
Calm Nature
- Moonblast
- Soft-Boiled
- Stealth Rock
- Knock Off
Thank you! I’ll make the changes.
