first you need to swap friend codes with the person. then go downstairs in the pokecenter and talk to the lady with brown hair thats not in pigtails. She will connect you to a wifi room where if your friends are on you will see them. from there you can voice chat, trade,battle,mix records and probably something else with that friend. hope that helped i think we have to follow this instructions
